Look at the picture below. On COAs on any item, not only cards the first thing to look for is tampering on the edges of the COA as its much harder to peel them off without them getting messed up

To be honest, this one fooled me, Tristan.

But I have a question: why would somebody bother peeling the CoA sticker? It's not as if the CoA specifically says what issue the buyback is - it would match whatever card has the corresponding ID #.

I agree, fooled me too, though it's not the best MJ auto...and the 01/01 i could have sworn I saw a buyback numbered 0x/xx (maybe a Tmac?), although all the buybacks that have ended seem to be consistent with just having x/xx with no 0 in front.

As far as the COA, goes wouldn't the tamper be evident on the COA# on the back of the actual card (the oval one)? Like bdrr said, there's nothing that says what the exact card it's authenticating is, so if you can take the COA# off the back of another card and put it on this one, then it'd be easier. And, it didn't seem like there was tampering on the oval COA...

On COAs you have to look at the edges not the center, the center is usually the easiest to remove since sometimes there is a tiny bubble. Some people use heat to remove them.

The edges never lie, there is just too much going against the card, off numbering, suspicious auto and COA.

And if you did pay very cheap for it then thats the BINGO right there thats its fake.

If the COA was never on the card in the first place then people would take say a COA from a cheaper buyback and use it on a Jordan, not to mention numbering it 1/1.

Buybacks are so risky to buy.

Yeah - that's one of the things that threw me off. Here's a Chris Paul numbered "05/21"
    http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-10-Exquisit...item2ea9fa52e3

    But here's a Mike Bibby numbered "6/30"
    http://cgi.ebay.com/09-10-EXQUISITE-...item19ba77664e

So, unless the Paul was forged too, it seems they were #ed both ways.

Yea when it's numbered 05/15 or 5/15 that's fine well on some
    but it's a big thing on a 1/1
