Ryan Whitney 05-06 The Cup Rookie-Produced?

    Hey,
Can anybody let me know if the Ryan Whitney cup rookie was ever produced? I've checked ebay and photobucket and didn't see one. I know it was a redemption, but was wondering if it was made. Any help would be great, thanks!

I was looking for the same thing. Doesn't seem to be out there. Picked up a nice SPA / SPX / YG lot tonight though.

I actually don't really like the deal, since I find Whitney very overrated, but hopefully he proves me wrong.

We have him for the next few yers, so I mighat as well add some of his pieces. I just wish he has a Cup rookie...

No question in my mind that Lubo is the better player of the two..... but here comes the 'but':

    - Lubo is 6 years older, and is due to start declining soon
    - Whitney should bring more of a mean streak than Lubo had.... which the Oilers need.
    - They've got enough "puck movers" that he won't be missed that bad anyway.
    - 1.4 (or 1.6??) million cap savings.

The Whitney card has not been produced and I've decided to wait for the 5 year anniversary before giving up on it...I keep asking one of my dealers if UD is still going to make the card and he keeps telling me that it may happen, although he can't get UD to tell him the status of the card: whether it's been created or waiting for Whitney to sign or whether it'll never been produced. With UD's silence, it looks like a great way for them never to deal with the issue...they keep collectors like me who want to complete the 05/06 Cup set (so don't ask for a replacement) in limbo...never providing the Whitney card nor because of the uncertainty, having to commit to a replacement card (sigh). I waited about 3 years for the Kostitsyn redemption from that set, so that gives me some hope on the Whitney, but that hope continues to fade as more time goes on. I can't understand why UD doesn't let us know one way or the other about the Whitney. Oh well, I just spent many thousands of dollars cracking 05/06 Cup wax...so it's no big deal for such a low end product..

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it gets made so you can complete your set!
