    Question about Scanning Cards

I've recently just got a scanner so I don't have to take pictures with my digital camera anymore!

The only problem is, I just tried it out right now and the picture comes out like this: (It has the card but also the big white background behind it)

Is there anyway to scan just the card? And if not, is there a small, non resource consuming (eg not Photoshop) program that you guys you to crop and resize the image?

Usually you can scan just the picture and not the whole thing inside of the program for your scanner, but for an easy way to crop it, just open it up in paint (highlight over the image with the select icon, drag the highlighted image to the top left, and drag the little square at the bottom right corner of the white background to the very edge of the card to remove it).

mine does that but you put your mouse in the corner of the card or anywhere on the card and crop it to where you want. save it and go into your photos and it should come out how you want it

Using an Epson 3-in-1 wireless thingy. I think I might have figured out the problem. I pushed the scan button on the printer instead of using the program on the computer!

    Thanks all for the advice!

The picture is coming out grainy now though, which setting do you guys use to scan for best quality?

When scanning, if there is an option, choose "show preview"....
This is what I usually have to do, but I'm using an HP..
