Nice to see more people on this thread coming to the aid of Sid rather than keeping the negative comments flowing.

And honestly, unless you're a Flyers or maybe Caps fan, or a die-hard USAer, I don't get the hate (minus maybe a hint of being jealous at how remarkable he is as both a player and person as well as the face of hockey). I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I have yet to hear a story about him that didn't paint him to be an outstanding person, on and off the ice.

In a sports world where there are more criminals and thugs and down right a-holes (NFL...cough...NFL), it's amazing how many people strongly dislike one of the few sports stars with class that actually would make a good role model for adults and children alike. No one cares more or trains harder or shows more passion for his craft than Crosby. And with all the pressure on him, as he was the face of team Canada, it was fitting he score the golden goal.

Whoever has his equipment should just give it back.

I see no point in keeping it, if all you are going to do is look at it and hide it from other people.
Obviously the person wouldnt be able to sell it, or show it off.

Oh. And I dont get why a quarter of hockey fans are always critisizing him. He has been critisized ever since he was a child, with everyone calling him names and booing him. Give him a break. He is a humbled, kind and thoughtful preson who deserves nothing of that. He is human like we are.

    You said it.

You obviously are underestimating the underground black market. There are tons of stolen priceless paintings, artifacts, etc that can be sold without anyone knowing. I'm sure a piece of Canadian and hockey history can fetch a high price on the black market as well.

Yes, good point, but would they say that that stick is a regular stick used in a regular season game? Of course not. They would want to say that it was a gold medal stick used to score the winning goal, to make it more valuable. The gold medal stick is a one of a kind, so if someone posted on ebay, saying that it was from a gold medal game used stick, everyone would know that it was stolen.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is just my opinion.
I hope you get what I am trying to say :)

I mean, if you're in connection with the right people you could make quite a bit of coin for it and no one will ever know. There are tons of stolen paintings, artifacts, weapons that are sold at black market auctions and know one is the wiser.

    And seen what I seen.
You would know who took em.

It was the Ice girl, in the BLUE uni,
    that made off with em!

I truly do not agree with this statement. I heard more on his behavior that is less than outstanding as you say. But to me everyone is human and has bad days. As for talent and a great play he is one of the best if not the best but let look at some examples of less than stellar behavior:

    1) Sidney Crosby Voted Biggest Whiner by NHL Players

I think he has learned to be a bigger leader by not crying as much like he did in the past. Even his teammates his first year had some rumbling about this when he was a rookie.

    2) Sidney Crosby Cheap Shot

Just another fact that I think should paint him less than outstanding for his actions. Has he made strides yes he has and i hope he continues to do as he matures just like we all do normally as we grow up from being a kid to adults.

    3) I have met him in person and unlike some truly class acts like Jarome Iginilia who I never met not sign autographs for at least some or all the folks I seen Crosby blow by the crowds because he did not feel like signing. If he the greatest player in the game, the face of hockey, he should be the ambassador to set the examples of how to act in and out of the public spotlight. Signing some auto's would be nice instead of just brushing the fans back.

Of course just like you said you never heard anything negative I am showing some. I seen some great things as well and posted those on the boards as well like him delivering season tickets to the season ticket holders, making a statement for a clean hit on Malkin (protecting teammates), and more as he matures in his leadership role.

If that the case they will catch her easily as they are watching the video's to see who might have carried the sticks out. We shall see I hope they just find it so it can be put on display.
