What Would "put your name here" Do? UD Replacement Question

Alright, so i got this card in on Monday, but im curious what to do

08-09 Black Diamond Luke Schenn Gold RC /10, except the /10 serial number on back is MIA

Upper Deck sent me this email back (after i sent them 4)

    Greetings Andrew,
If you like I would be happy to have you send that in and compensate you for that card. Regretfully I do not have information as to that card being meant to be as such but I can assure you that we want to take every measure to assure your happiness with the product.

So i dont know what to do, should i sent it in, or think i'll spring interest from a Schenn collector?

Any and All comments or ideas welcome! Maybe a schenn collector will swoop in here now :) lol

I would just hold onto it...definitely not worth the risk of seeing what UD will do as far as compensation.

why don't you just ask them to specify what you'll get back?

i tried that and still waiting for a response, it takes them a month to email back, and if they dont answer the question your looking for, you wait another month

    useless? i believe so

Rule number 1 with Upper Deck seems to be to never e-mail them. They seem to respond much better to calls. Also if you state a value you had in mind (previous sales ect...) I think they'll be more than fair. I've never been on the short end of an Upper Deck redemption replacement. (Not that it doesn't happen, but I've been lucky enough to get good deals.)

take a crayon and write 1/1 on it. Then say that UD hired some new people to number their cards
