1 more 04 SP Authentic FB Box Bust...I LOVE this stuff!!!!

The main card shop I go to FINALLY was able to track down a sealed case of 04 SP Authentic FB (since UD screwed him out of his direct case -- told him they oversold the product due to a computer error and refused to give him a case even after providing him a confirmation # for the order). He let me and one other guy each buy 1 box for $100 since we had waited so long for him to get it (after that, it's $135 per box). I beat my buddy to the card shop by about 15 minutes and got to bust the case open. I selected the box I wanted (picked # 45 (last 2 digits on the Hologram on the box) for T.J. Duckett) and went to busting it...was hoping I would get a rc patch...here's what I got...








Got the Wes Welker gold rc out of the 1st pack opened...could have been better but could have definitely been worse...not too disappointed w/the Gamble...not many live auto rc's out there. About 2/3's of the way thru the box, I opened one of the packs and knew it wasn't one of those thick cardboard "pack-searching deterrants" so I sat it to the side (to let my buddy get there) and finished off opening the rest of the packs. Finally, I pulled the patch auto out of the pack I laid aside and here's what I got........



















Needless to say, I was pumped (just wish it was multi-color but I'm not griping!)...it was the 1st Ben rc pulled from the shop all year (and I'm not counting Ben Watson or Ben Troupe...there's been A TON of them pulled!!!). My buddy was green w/envy but he was saying it was Karma due to so much of my PC getting stolen right before Christmas. I haven't decided what to do with it...the Shop Owner says sell it (where I can pay my tab off!) but I really don't want to do that. I doubt I trade it...I really don't know...I would like a Fleer Hot Prospects Big Ben multi-color auto patch rc for the set I'm trying to do but I'm about to the point of giving up on that set (don't want to try and track down a K. Winslow for it, even if I can get the Big Ben for it). I MAY consider a trade to replace a few of the HOF auto's I got stolen (but a nice Unitas auto would ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE part of any trade for me to even consider it and I'd like a Montana auto in a 49'er uniform as well). As far as the other cards, I'll look at offers...my buddy wants the Chris Gamble if I swap it...he busted 3 boxes of SP and pulled 2 patch rc's and a Philip Rivers SOTT auto...I traded for both of his auto patch rc's (I got a 3-color Rashaun Woods /499 and a 3-color Ben Watson /799 -- he pulled a Ben too!!! The "Ben" everybody at the shop pulls!). I'm really wanting a multi-color Losman SP Auth. auto patch rc to put up so if anybody has one, I'd definitely be interested. I think that's my last box of SP...out of 3 boxes, I pulled 3 auto patch rc's (Big Ben, Steven Jackson and Schaub, which I've moved as I live in Atlanta) and I'm afraid if I try another box, the "CURSE" of Ben Troupe or Devard Darling will strike me again.

only have an Ultimate Collection Darling auto rc #'d /250...got it from my buddy as a 'throw-in' to a trade a few days ago...I don't mind having that one but I hope I don't pull any on him, to be honest. Let me pull the 'best' guys and be able to trade for other's

That's a nice pull on the Big Ben... I'm not suffereing from the "Ben Craze" LoL so I'm not gonna' start the process of bugging you for a trade, hehe... but I do know that if you're even considering selling it, I would do it soon because after the rookie craze dies out, he may not be as hot... That's not saying he won't still be good, but who knows what's going to happen tomorrow ya' know? There's a lot of stuff I've had that I shoulda' sold when they were hot, now they're worth a fraction of what they were.... It's just part of being a collector I guess, knowing when the time's right! Good luck with it though, still a great pull!

Nice pull on the Ben. I do have a Unitas auto, but only books $150 and the Ben is selling for about $500(i think) on ebay so Im reluctant to trade for rookies when theyre on fire.

I saw on your page that you collect the Falcons and was wondering if you had any interest in trading for a Mike Vick double patch card from his rookie year(2001) #'d to 50 bv $300(not for the Ben but in general).

I agree wth PeppersFan. Just look at this time last year and how much people were paying for Carson Palmer, Andre Johnson, Kyle Boller, Rex Grossman, etc... Now theyre not so much because there is a whole new group of rookies for collectors to covet. Get rid of the Ben at top price while you can because it wont be anywhere close to the Matt Leinart craze next year.

How much would you sell the Darling for, that is if you would be interested in selling it.

Hi all...I'm back after a 3-day hiatus due to a major computer crash (that's what I get for letting my Mom use my computer...she JACKED it up bad and it only took her about 30 minutes to do it...all she could say is "I don't know what happened!"). I've thought long and hard on it but for the time being, I'm keeping the Big Ben...I've had tons of awesome offers on it but I really don't want to get rid of it...even if, down the road, he drops in value, I'm still in it only for the cost of 1 box so I can afford to sit on it. If I decide to trade it down the road, you'll see me post it and you'll know it's up for offers.
