Jesse Jackson invokes Civil Rights era in...bingo protest?
Rev. Jesse Jackson leads pro-bingo march in Montgomery
The Rev. Jesse Jackson led a march of about 200 people down Dexter Avenue to the Alabama Capitol to rally supporting bingo jobs in the state.
Jackson said the bingo debate ongoing in Alabama is a voting rights issue and a matter of economic justice. Counties voted for bingo, Jackson said, and the vote should be respected...
...Rally leaders evoked Civil Rights era imagery during the march.Marchers sang, "We shall overcome" and the demonstration paused to pray in front of Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, the church once led by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
Does anybody still give any respect to this guy? He'll protest anything that gets him a few more bucks and regardless of issue, always brings race in somehow...even in a bingo protest!

wow, how demeaning to the actual civil rights struggle. I've never really seen him for more than an opportunistic press hound. He has been at the front of some good causes, but seems to make a lot of things into something they are not.
