    Cropping in photoshop...

Ok, got a question for those of you using photoshop.

I'm still struggling with photoshop when it comes to cropping players out. I've tried using the background eraser and the cropping tools to clear a player from the rest of the picture, but haven't been really happy with either tool. I can't seem to get my tolerance right with the background eraser, and The Magnetic Lasso is really touchy, IMHO. Do any of you have any suggestions?

I'm not sure what it would be actually called on PS and what version you even have.... But I use GIMP and I use the "free select tool" and zoom in on the picture. It's the one where you click and it throws down dots where you click and lines through the dots, takes about 2 minutes and I get a clean cut everytime.

I use the lasso tool, personally. Feather the selection to one pixel. select the area of the image you want to delete and then remove it from the image. Make sure you duplicate the layer first.

There are a lot of ways to do this technique. That's just the way I've done it forever.
