Oh yeah.. And this! I sent this 8x10 for my brother Travis, who is an Eagles fan. He was pretty stoked. Always thought he and Tra Thomas were extremely underrated.

I'll get the TTM updated soon, I always put it off until I have a huge stack to enter in. :(

Nice Runyan... I have request going out to him in a few days, as soon as the cards show up. You think he will be a future HOFer? Always heard other great DE's ( like Strahan) talk about how much of a tough guy he was + he was such a fixture on that offensive line for so long. Not sure how many pro-bowls he played in, that seems to be the #1 factor for O'Line men anymore for the hall.

Thanks! He was only voted to one Pro Bowl. Which is a shame, because if you ask any of his opponents, they'd tell you he could have been a Pro Bowler nearly every year in his prime. He and Tra Thomas were in my opinion the one of the best and most consistent tackle duos for a period of 6-7 seasons.

Oh well, add him to the heavy list of acomplished players that deserve to be in but never will. Maybe that's what sets the NFL"s HOF appart from the others. Only the true elite get to canton.

Runyan and Thomas were undoubtedly one of the best combos in the modern NFL history...shame neither got the credit they deserved. Nice auto!

True, but I disagree on that second part.. There are plenty of guys who probably shouldn't be in Canton, but are because of the teams they were on..Or are just because someone loves them. Griese, Swann, Stallworth, Stenerud (guy doesn't even crack top 10 numbers for a kicker..), Namath (more INT's than career TD's.. enough said never had a season with more TD's than INT's, and career rating of 65 HORRIBLE), Tippett (Had three amazing seasons, then was just "ok).. And Bettis is going to get in. Guy had like two elite seasons and that's it. Longevity and a great nickname will be why he gets in. I could go on. Especially when I could name probably 15 guys that should be in and not need much argument. Baseball definitely has the most strict HOF, but then again, with such fewer players on rosters and other factors, there are a lot less HOF worthy guys, and it seems there aren't a lot of "snubs".. You either got it or you don't.

    Agreed, thanks!

    Couple more today.

Tony Mandarich, 2/2. One of the biggest busts ever. Can't imagine how good he'd have been had his play (and the whole steroid deal..) was as good in the NFL as in college.

Ed Mayer. Another 50's Cub. Only spent two years with the team, but was a pretty good pitcher in the minor leagues for quite a few years. Wrote me a great note back and included a signed card of his own, and a paper with scanned newspaper articles and little notes (not scanned). Even gave me his email addy.

Cant argue with that. Stenerud & Namath def make you scratch your head & wonder. Namath was just a public figure.. Doesnt make it anymore right.. Stats certainly arent worthy when you look at them & compare to other greats in the hall.

Edit:: I do think Baseball will defiantly change its HOF credentials here in the coming years. Especially with the dirty players that are becoming eligible. What use to be 500 home runs in a career & you punch your ticket will soon change. The likes of palmero who was absolutely embarrassed when he retired with his scandle about being Dirty & hasnt had so much as a sniff yet of the hall & i cant ever imagine Manny Ramirez getting into Cooperstown. The way he went out, Baseball would just assume forget he ever played the game.

Agreed.. And I really hope they don't let all these dirty guys in. With that, I think will come lowered standards for clean guys. Maybe guys like Mussina or Kent will get a longer look.. Who knows. But the baseball hall is super picky as it is, I can't see them letting scum like A-Rod, Manny, and Bonds in.
