    Hm, I might re-try sometime!

I was 10 last time the 9ers were playoff caliber. So I gotta say I've never been happier as a sports fan as I am right now. I don't like how surprised people are that we're good at all though.. we were being dogged and placed behind the Rams on paper before the season. Which is ridiculous. The Rams were not a good football team last year, and gave no reason for me to believe they would be this year. The 9ers however, had loads of talent at key positions (two monster TE's, solid WR corps (with Crabtree, Morgan, Edwards), a top running back, some solid young offensive lineman, best 3-4 DL in the NFL/one of the better DL period in Justin Smith, Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman who is Willis Jr.. Aldon Smith, Ahmad Brooks.. Best front 7 in football right now. All we needed was for Smith to be a game manager, and he's done that brilliantly and he's stepped up and put the team on his back whenever we've asked him. We 9ers fans have realized that we've had enough talent to win this divisno for a few years now, just horrible ownership decisions and moronic coaching and coaches were the culprit. 8-1.. couple blown coverage in an OT loss vs Dallas from being 9-0 and we've only played one NFCW team.

Alex is obviously not the future and we need a franchise QB to put this team where we want to be ultimately, but I gotta say I applaud Alex for taking what was a lose-lose situation for both him and the 9ers to come back for one more year and doing what he's doing. Can't imagine what this team would be doing with a Rodgers, Stafford, or Brees. Heck, even Eli Manning.

could be worse, could have Curtis Painter as your QB for the season *sigh*

Hah, definately. Can't believe they kept him on as Peyton's backup after his awful preseason showings. UDFA's were playing better than Painter and they never said "Hey, we need to look into a decent backup". There were plenty available in the offseason.

Anyways.. I think my time doing this is winding down, I'm about done with it all together. Way too much money is being wasted, I'm not getting anything back anymore.. Just not worth it. I'll probably finish up what I have left sitting here and that will be it.

Maybe just a tad bit of piss poor planning on upper management with that call. But they did try with Kerry Collins & that couldnt have went any worse but, atleast theres a chance that they could get mr Luck next year.. That would make the season worth it.

Sorry to see you are going to be calling it quits before long. I was actually talking to a guy at work about this today. We was discussing just how much $$, time ect we have wrapped up in TTM's thats DONT come back. Im afraid to figure it out. I do think that after this football season im going to take an extended break myself & see what trickles in & such.

Funny but I have been thinking the same thing for a while. Although I get a great deal of succeses, I still have 259 no returns in the past two years. And yes, that's expensive because these were about 50% 8x10s.

Another reason, I have also noticed that there are fewer contributions into the TTMM with more posts being done on just the "individual" Success threads. This isn't meant at you because you are one of the best contributors to the TTMM. There are those who use the addys we post on here but don't bother posting ones where they had their own succeses (no excuse for that in my opinion). I have hesitated doing an individual success thread myself so I wouldn't be tempted to just cop out on contributing addys and successes to the TTMM.

Sorry for the rant but I feel your pain...

Trade Manning to the Jets, draft Luck, and still have another 1st rounder + more to play around with. Would be the best move the Colts could make IMO. Face it, they're probably not going to win another SB with Manning, gotta worry about the next 15 years and not the next two when in a situation like this.

Yeah.. It's a multitude of factors. It's mostly just.. I don't have the time anymore, and it takes a lot more time then I realize. Finding cards, pictures, customs, printing, waiting, assembling, writing, addressing, post office trips.. Time just isn't there. So when I do have time, it's really the last thing I wanna do, feels like work and isn't fun anymore. And I used to have an awesome success rate, and it's been in the shltter since I've had less time. Even though I'm still sending, and to good signers, just adds to the frustration. Like I said, there's just a few more guys I wanna go after, and I want to finish all these 8x10s sitting here as much as I don't want to waste the money as it would seem since I feel like someone else is getting them or something.

I hear you there, 8x10s add up more than anything. Even the envelopes aren't cheap. I honestly don't even use this TTMM but I always post my stuff (forgive the last month I've been behind and not updated).. I hardly have the time to send any out let alone update the TTMM which I wish was easier to update like it is on SCN. But agreed, not many people update it, though it seems like mostly people who do are members who I've never heard of before.

    Friday:

Shaun Alexander, 2/2. I really like this one. He had one HELL of a career for only 8 seasons. There's a lot of guys in the 10k yard club (he just missed that one) and the 100 TD club are guys who were never elite players but just did it good for a long time to get there. Great guy though, not surprised he signs TTM after football.

Pete Retzlaff, 2/3. Tried to get an extra custom for my brother, guess he liked it? 5x Pro Bowler and awesome multipurpose player in the 50's.

I love your Alexander & Retzlaff. I'm getting antsy because I sent my Alexander request before all the people who are getting him now, and I still haven't gotten mine back...

Thanks guys. He seems kinda sporadic.. Maybe wait a bit and try again? Seems like a few people on SCN have had to do that.

    Three today.

John Kuhn, 2/2. Used my gold on the 8x10, and the card (didn't even ask!) and it looks sweet, pops off the card nicely. Almost looks facsimile! Even sent the marker back though I told him to keep it.

Eric Moulds, 1/? Could have sworn I sent a custom. Not 100% though. Either way this is all I got back.. Still happy. Moulds was a good player I liked to watch. Was just FIVE yards short of being in the 10k receiving yards club.

    Bobby Engram, 2/2. c/o 49ers.

That Kuhn? Yeah, that's just plain sexy. Very jealous of that.
