    Not many Topps Collectors here

I started collecting Topps cards and only Topps not too long ago, buying many graded rookie Topps Chrome on ebay. I like to collect only rookie cards that's why I like Topps and Fleer since they've been around long. I don't see many people collecting Topps cards here, but I'm not surprised since their cards aren't great looking compared to the newer editions from different companies.

I love collecting Refractors, mostly the Topps Chrome/Bowman Chrome X-Fractors and colored refractors (orange, blue, gold etc). I think most of those refractors look amazing.

Same here. Topps refractor is the best. I'm not too crazy with their inserts nor GU/AUTO. Upper deck does better GU/AUTO, while Skybox (before they closed) does better on insert. Topps usually signs players that are very good on the court, but very small in the hobby. Even Kobe quited Topps before joining Upper Deck

I am a big refractor fan (sucker?) as well. They are very colorful and attractive with the way they reflect the light in a rainbow fashion.

As Xavieronly1 said, they do not have the big superstars and hobby names (teamtopps - except for Shaq, I think Tim Duncan used to be topps exclusive but don't think he still is). The big names are mostly UD exclusive (now Kobe is Panini exclusive). They could have better GU as well (more patches), as he also said.

While it seems there are more UD collectors there are many topps collectors too. I rarely buy UD products. I (and many others) feel topps offers better value (bang for the buck).

UD has better auto's & GU. SkyBox had great inserts. Topps is def known for refractors. (I don't think there are many collectors who wouldn't want to add these cards to their collections (Any Jordan Refractor, '95 Topps Finest G. Hill/or Jason Kidd Refractor RC, '97 Topps Finest Gold Refractor RC's & '97 Topps Chrome Refractor RC's [Kobe, Nash & Iverson], Finest Mystery Refractors, Test Refractors, '99 Topps Chrome D. Nowitzki & V. Carter Refractor RC's, LeBron and K. Durant Refractor RC's)

Those are some of the most sought after cards in the hobby. Even their cards now are enhanced with the refractor technology. They carved a nice little niche out in the hobby. I think it's nice that they have stayed away from what everyone else has done for the most part and stuck with what their good at. This has differentiated their product from other companies. Auto's and GU/Patches are nice, but sometimes, companies rely on them too much IMHP. The Topps Chrome products are some of the cleanest and best looking designs with out relying solely on GU's or just auto's. All companies have something different to offer and Topps's is offering solid design and the beautiful refractor technology.
