wanting to buy a high end

I want to buy a highend premier collection or cup rookie/99 before I lay low for a few months. However I noticed most of the big names (Fleury, kovachuk, phaneuf, price) are over priced on ebay. Which would be the best bang for the buck right now? I was looking at Fleury's premier /99 rookie, however it is selling for way over its BV for a single colour on ebay. Any advice? Thanks!

Go for someone like Staal or Bergeron from 03-04 PC, not sure how much they cost, but certainly less than Fleury...

Those are nice choices and i think Staal can be obtained in the 300 range.

However, I really wanted to nab a card that booked in the 1000 range. That is why I was considering Fleury, Phaneuf or even a Stamkos (however it is hard to find those at a reasonable price these days).

Personally, I like sweet swatches of medium players. I bought a Hudler from the 04/04 set for $250ish, but it was SP'd and has a nice emblem swatch. I'm still working on getting a Zetty 02/03 Premier #/99. Most those ads have 'buy it now' offers so you can submit what you feel comfortable. There has been a rash of forgeries discused on the site for nicer RC of players, so ask around about your seller before buying.

Good point. I notced that the single or double colour patches are rarely fake if any. However is there a site or list I can go to check for legit sellers?

i think Zach Parise is a good choice scored the game-tying olympic gold medal game goal to force overtime in the final seconds. to me that makes the card even better and he's young and has a great career ahead of him.

I don't think there is any reference page giving you "a list of legit ebay sellers". You'll have to figure out yourself who you choose to trust. Looking at their feedback is a good start. Asking the seller a question and seeing the response is another means of establishing a feel for the seller. Looking at the other items the seller has listed or has sold is another. Are you worried about the transaction going thru' OK or are you worried about the patch not being tampered with? You could also ask if the seller is a member of any Board, such as this one...and if so, check the Board for any negative feedback by searching the Board for mention of him/her. The Board sometimes mentions bad/suspect ebay sellers, so searching the Board for the seller's ebay name, may yield something. Good luck!
