Top Five Set-Up Men in the NHL

    by Eric LaForge

At the NHL level, it's nearly impossible to rely on one player to score goals. If you want to win games, you need to have set-up men that can continuously make smart plays that lead to more goals.

A good set-up man has a few characteristics. Obviously, he has to be a great skater and have good puck control skills.

However, he should also have a great hockey awareness to see which options are open and figure out the best play. When he has a good awareness of what's going on, it will be easier for him to create scoring opportunities
