Went today and picked up Whitey Ford on my Pacific Legends Card and also George Foster on a card as well. Ford was only $59. I usually don't pay that much for cards, but I have done the Pacific Legends project since Freshman year and I have 75 total cards signed now including dups, from 72 different people (I have 3 signed by Burt Hooton and 2 signed by Jon Matlack) I was surprised to see Whitey signing with his right hand. I asked him what he though about Ball Four. "Is that the book Bouton wrote? Yeah, I didn't care about it too much." Still though, a nice fellow. Got a picture with him. Good to see him dressed up for the occasion in a suit unlike these young punks who wear whatever.
As for Foster, he was a VIP guest and I know a man who is a friend of the family who goes all the time. He always gets the VIP package (I have only gotten it once in the five years I have gone there) and I asked if he wouldn't mind getting Foster on the card for me once he got his stuff. He got Foster to sign all three things (Card, Photo, and Baseball) so I thank him. I already had Foster but wouldn't have minded that card too. So thanks Whitey and George and thanks to my friend.
I also picked up four 69 topps for mailings:
Jose Santiago
George Stone
Marty Pattin
Roger Repoz
And I'm going back tomorrow and will have a VERY busy day.

Got a six pack today.
Started off with Charles White. Waited over an hour in the VIP line. I was very insulted that the show workers had him sign mini helmets in front of us before he started. I mean I'm waiting all this time and he's signing the mini's. You know, if it was backstage it wouldn't be too big of a deal but you know you it is rude to eat in front of others? That's the impression I got. He signed my Heisman 79 magazine. I didn't think he was too nice because while he was signing it I asked him a question and he goes "Hold on, I'm working" If you can't sign and answer a question at the same time, then you have problems.
Next I got Keith Hernandez on the Mets page of my 88 World Series program. He was a cool guy. I asked him if he got elected to the HOF which hat he would like to go in wearing. He said it wasn't his call. I knew that, but I asked him if he could which one? He said whatever one is fine. He added 79 Heisman
Then I got over to the Willie McCovey line and he signed an 8 X 10. Poor guy was in a wheelchair. Still though even if he wasn't the friendliest he was still polite and all. I extended my hand but he insisted we pound it. Totally understandable.
Then I got Elvin Bethea on my Oilers mini helmet. He was very kind and a nice gentlemen. Holy crap his hands are HUGE.
Added HOF 03
Got Ozzie Smith on the 8 X 10 of doing his backflip. He was very nice. I asked him how Niko was doing and he said well. He said he performed last night and he will be performing at the same place tonight. So that's cool.
Finally I got Bill Gadsby on a Black Hawks Chicago Puck. He was a little hard of hearing but still nice. He added HOF 1970.
In addition I picked up the following for mailings:
1952 topps Roy Hartsfield (I cannot begin to tell you how long I have looked for this card)
1953 topps Bob Cerv
1959 topps Albie Pearson
1962 topps Don Lee
1964 topps Duke Carmel
1965 topps John O'Donoghue
1966 topps John Kennedy
1969 topps Jim Gosger
1969 topps Bill Glass
1970 topps Bob Berry
1970-topps Matt Snell

Thanks man. Emmitt Smith was there. I figure I tell you this since you like the Cowboys. He was supposed to sign from 12-2 and yet he was done before 1.
