1 stamp will work for just about anything you would send TTM card wise (I've done 6 without a problem). The one problem I have with your idea is the toploader.
Sometimes (yes, this is true) players will sign the toploader instead of the card. A way to avoid this while protecting your card is putting it between index cards.
I hope that helps!

thanks for the advice! I am a little worried with the top loader so I guess we will see how some of them come back. I might have to just start sending out blank index cards.

Why leave them blank? I like to write a short question and hope they answer it on the lined side of the card! I do not always enclose index cards, but when I do I ask a question. You end up with some real unique collectibles when they do answer the questions.

1 stamp. Sometimes I enclose a couple of Canadian coins in the toploader, and it works just fine.

i've almost never sent a ttm with a toploader. the one i did send was to Mr. Drew Brees, it was returned fine, card was signed and placed neatly back into the toploader.
