The current tally shows that whoever has the most members will win this contest.

Well the 2 nice gifts UD is giving and then the few product gifts are going to be lost in the massive crowed on here. No chance of winning one what so ever is the only draw back.

I agree that this is a show of quantity and nothing more. Total forum members multiplied by the amount of self-promotion and site does to swing the numbers in their way.

If a site small enough in membership wanted to market themselves hard enough to friends and family it is very possible that a site's total votes could exceed it's member base.

Kudos to UD for trying to recognize the hobby community in some fashion though.

You know you can have your friends/family vote for it as well. You don't have to be a member to recognize this site as being the best. Get the word out as it seems other sites are doing this as well.

I have talked to Upper Deck about this. These polls are easy to manipulate. I would estimate that 50% or more of these votes are from non-sports card collectors. I could see some sites getting more votes than they have members!

A better way would be to have an independent person register on each site and evaluate each. I feel that we are not only the biggest, but we are also the best at taking care of our members.

Well the 2 nice gifts UD is giving and then the few product gifts are going to be lost in the massive crowed on here. No chance of winning one what so ever is the only draw back.

You have a valid point and I will bring it up to the staff and of course to the members to decide what we do with the prizes (if we win). I'd like to see some deserving members get the prize. Maybe a member or trader of the month? Member of the year? Season long contests?

Let's get out the vote and worry about the prizes later! I can promise you that the prizes will be available to all. These will not go into a VIP exclusive contest or something like that.
