    Anything good in '89 hoops?

I was going through some boxes of cards from back when and found what I think is the complete 1989 nba hoops set. They were printed in '89 and the last years stats were '88-89, so I guess that's the '88-89 set? It's not in order, so I'm not sure if it's all there. I was just wondering if there's anything worth the time of sorting these to see if the whole set is there, and didn't want to pay beckett's $3.99 to look up one set. I know nothing about basketball, but got these along with some other cards a few years back when a friend sold me all his stuff and I forgot I even had them until now. Thanks for any help.

Since the last year of stats listed was 88-89, that leads me to believe that this is the 89-90 Hoops set. The best card in the set is a David Robinson rookie ($10). These cards were mass-produced, so they are hardly worth the paper they are printed on (but still fun to collect).

    According to the newest Beckett:
    89-90 Hoops Complete set (series 1+2) $25.00
    Complete series 1 (300 cards) $20.00
    Complete Series 2 (52 cards) $5.00

Hope that is what you were looking for

Yeah, unfortunately that was the first year I started collecting cards too! Either way, the Robinson rookie was short-printed (although that may be a term relative to the rest of the set, rather than to all cards of the time in general).

Just the DRobs. The set in particular are worthless, but thankfully for some collections the Robinson RCs were SP'd so they still are worth something. They've held their value pretty well considering what other rookies are worth today. shaqs, garnetts, kobes all under $6 let alone $10.

The Robinson #138 is the good one (not the series 2 one), although with the high print run (despite the sp designation) only centered ones are really in demand. Off centered lots are all over Ebay and are basically given away.
