    HBO Miniseries : Pacific

If you liked Band of brothers you will like Pacific

So far i am enjoying this production
I think what surprises me is the type or battles in the Pacific and how much they differed from European theater.
any one have thoughts to add?

I don't get HBO, but can't wait to see Pacific.

it is interesting that it was pretty much a completely different war than from europe.

Band of Brother overall is longer
However they cover the story starting in basic with band of brothers

Episode 1 of Pacific they start with Guadalcanal
which I must remark that the Marines did one HELL of a job!

I loved, LOVED Band of Brothers...one of the best war productions ever made. I'm sure the Pacific has the same high quality, but I was a little put off by some of Tom Hanks' recent statements along the lines of we bombed Japan because they were different than us.

Ok I have just finished watching the final segment of the series

Pacific was much different from The Band of Brothers. I have some disappointment I must admit. Overall they did a great job on the story. I guess I was missing the battle scenes. However, a few were very intense!

    Thoughts or opinions?

I too was disappointed. Overall a great series, and had I not seen Band of Brothers I would probably grade this higher than I did.
    Is it worth watching? Definitely
To me it's almost boring in spots, like they didn't know what to do for filler between battles or what not. I loved BOB and did enjoy this, just somewhat disappointed.
