Ovechkin Beehive RC Question
Hey gang, just some food for thought here, and cmon guys leave some comments and input this time not like my thread yesterday
lol
05-06 Ovechkin Beehive Yellow Border RC BGS 9.5, what value would you put on this, as in what do you think is a fair price?
Here are a couple recent that didnt sell at 20 or 25$ that are ungraded
http://cgi.ebay.ca/05-06-BEEHIVE-ROO...item335af4ded6
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ALEXANDER-OVECHKI...item5ad7fc8340
and a BGS 9 that didnt sell at 35$
http://cgi.ebay.ca/05-06-Beehive-Yel...item51912a90ad
a BGS 9.5 with a reserve that only reached 41$
http://cgi.ebay.ca/2005-06-UD-BEEHIV...item1c10dd0ea7
Can't seem to find the listing here now, but a BGS 10 sold for ballpark 150$
As comparison, Ovechkin YGs that are graded 9.5 sell for usually 130 - 150ish, and recent sales on a BGS 10 sold for 650$,
so putting all this together what do you think is a fair sale value on his Beehive BGS 9.5? My opinion would be between 40 - 50 but i would like to hear your input.
Thanks guys

Perosnally, I'd rather have the ungraded one than the 9 or 9.5. This is even more true with a modern card like the Ovechkin.
I get why a 10 would be appealing: it's in perfect condition. I get why a 9 would be appealing on a vintage card... becuase condition like that is hard to find.
I've got an Ovechkin YG. Looking at it.... there are no noticable flaws. Corners are sharpe, no surface wear, looks to be properly centered.... edges are great. Under a microscope, I assume the people at PSA or BGS would find something wrong with it - and give it an 8.5, a 9.... something other than 10.
Why would anyone pay a premium on a modern card, for anything less than perfect? I'd much rather have the ungraded card that looks to be in great condition. It's easier to store and easier to display without the slab.

I would think around $40-$50 would be a fair sales value. Beehive does not get strong prices.

Sean - very good insight, and well i mean imo id have no trouble taking a 9.5 as its almost perfect. BGS 10's will always be out of my price range unless im on a payment plan lol, so id take a 9.5. But all in all, do you think 40 - 50$ makes sense on that Ovy?
g-force - thanks for the input :)

Well, I guess the $40-$50 range does.
Card normally sells for around $20, right? It costs another $20 to get it graded. It came out with a 9.5, which is almost perfect (and close enough, I guess). If I were the seller, I'd think at least $40.

I think $40-$50 would be fair for both sides.

Thanks all, reason i posted this, is it was offered to me at 90$dlvd and other party thinks 40 - 50 is rediculous when in reality its the value of it. I just wanted some reassurance and im greatful for that from you all.

I would pay 50 for one if I wanted that particular card.
