Well, my set is complete. View this thread to see scans.

Only 230 of these sets can be made, and it's quite hard trying to find all these autos from 2001.

That is a sweet set! if you dont mind me asking how much did you end up paying for the Vick? Have you been collecting this set since 2001 or was this a recent venture?

Well, what happened was, I picked up the LT at a great price. I paid about $62 for it if I recall correctly. The LT is actually graded BGS 8.5 Auto 10. I think people must think an 8.5 is bad or something, but it is NrMt-MT+, and Beckett lists cards at 100% BV at NrMt-MT. So it's not like it decreases the value by having a grade on it. If it were an 8, yes, but 8.5 isn't anything to whine about. I most likely am going to bust it out of the slab, due to the fact it's the only graded one, lol.

Anyway, long story short, I liked my purchase, decided to go for the set. I picked up all the Big Dogs first...LT, Vick, Deuce, etc. I picked the Vick up for about 115 I think(the seller had like 24 feedbacks, and a Negative) so it shyed buyers away. Then I just started picking them up.

I started the set at the beginning of the season, and had about 35 of the 50 within 3-4 weeks. Now I obtained all the higher-end ones, which were easier, but picking up the cheapies was no easy task. I was averaging like 1 a week. Then I went on a spurt where I didn't purchase any for like 5 months.

What I did in the meantime was bought all the 04 Hot Prospects Auto/Patch RCs. All multi-colors, really sweet set. I had that completed before Beckett even had pricing out. Well, needless to say, you pick up a set that fast, you rack up some Credit Card debt fast. I had to sell it all after I completed it to pay some bills, lol. Darn shame too, that was before Big Ben had his first start. I had a sweet 3 color patch/auto rc /150 that I let go for like $225. Talk about a kick in the family jewels. Live and learn, live and learn.

Now, as far as this set goes, as some of you may know, I have left the hobby. I am still going to go after Berrians, but that's it. Selling the rest of my junk. Just too darn expensive. I might be back next year, to collect a new Bears RC. First it was Charles Tillman, then Berrian, and hopefully they nab Braylon Edwards. Then I'll have to build another cool collection. As for now, I'm done. I am pondering selling this set. I probably only have about $700 in it, which is fairly good in my opinion. That's less than half bv, and the 01 class has been great this year. Its nice seeing up arrows on the Brees and Crumpler, that never hurts. So I guess if I can get around $850-900, I might sell, or maybe I'll build a frame to display all 50. That's the route I will probably take. Sorry for the astronomically long read, but I'm at work, I have nothing to do, and this is the highlight of my day, lol.

Berrian, you inspired me to stay in the hobby, but this way instead of buying boxes. I'm going to go for the 2000 SPX set right now and see how that goes. I think by going after a 4 year old set I will really bypass a lot of the inflated prices that can occur with new rookie classes. OF course I will still end up paying a bit for the Brady, Pennington (paid $63), Alexander, etc.. but I think in the long run it will be better than collecting the new stuff just for the fact that most of the 2000 stuff isnt so readily available as the 2004 stuff so it will occupy me a bit longer... hopefully months... to complete the set.

I also apologize for the lengthy replies. My fiancee only stays here on the weekends so I have nothing to do! :)
