Would it be courteous if...
I received a card in the mail this week that I needed for my 08-09 Tundra Tandems PC. Thankfully, I only paid $1.99 plus reasonable S&H...
Here is a link to the original auction, so that you can see the scan. More importantly, please note the seller's description, where it is indicated that the "Card is in perfect condition."

When the card arrived, I took it out of the dirty/sticky/used top loader that it came in so that I could put it in a fresh one. Upon closer examination of the card after taking it out of the original top loader, however, I discovered the surface of the card, especially in the area around the left swatch, was badly creased/damaged!! Not a minor blemish, here. At least 3 highly-noticeable creases, as well as a large gash that is visible in the scan, a white line running from about the middle of the left swatch down to about Budaj's wrist.
I was going to leave neutral feedback with a simple comment, "Card found to have major surface damage when removed from top loader"...
BUT, I got thinking that it might be courteous to at least make an attempt to contact the seller before doing so. In light of the minor costs involved, is it worth the effort? S/He did, after all, falsely claim the card's "perfect condition".
Cheers,

That is an offence worthy of a negative, not a neutral. The seller, despite whatever they may put into their description to the contrary, is responsible for delivery of the product to you as described in the listing. I would contact them and sternly (without being rude) let them know that the card has significant damage and that you would like a full refund. If they request it, send pictures as proof of the damage. If they do not respond amicably to this request, file a dispute to get your money back.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I'm with Rich on this one, even if it is only a couple bucks it's not the amount you paid that matters. What matters is you get what you paid for in the condition of which it was stated to be in. You did not and should get a full refund.

Contact him first I am sure he would give a full refund, nobody with almost 1500 feedbacks at 100% needs a blemish for a $2 card which could have been bent by the lovely postal service..

You should always contact a seller before leaving neutral, or negative feedback, imo. I would include scans of the damage in your orignal communication, and see what response you get.

You can clearly see the scar on the far left side, with two other scars near it, that white dot-looking thing, and a smaller scar running through the "o" and "l" in Colorado. There's a huge crease in the top left corner of the Budaj swatch that is very visible in this scan. There are also smaller creases on the top right corner of the Budaj swatch, running up into the "T" in Tundra, and in the bottom right corner, from the corner of the swatch design down to almost the "J" in Budaj. There's a small crease above the top left Theodore swatch, and I won't even get into those obvious border paint chips above both respective goalie's shoulders.
