well... another month down. unfortunately, the huge update that I had hoped to bring you led to me being out $130 and totally lied to for about a month. at least the paypal resolution closed yesterday and I got my money back.

not a huge month overall, but decent. here are the stats, with another little fun update at the end...

    AUGUST update.

17 cards received this month, with most coming in one deal on Beckett.com. working on a few deals this month that will hopefully lead to a really nice September. we shall see...

    17 cards added August 2010 (2,722 total)

17 RC cards added August 2010

14 serial numbered cards added August 2010

14 serial numbered RC cards added August 2010

    HIGHLIGHTS:

its Syndicate Sportscards again! last month they sold me 10, this month the number was 13(!) 2004 Donruss Classics #223 RCs. I don't know how they found them all, but I'll keep buying if they will keep selling. I wound up picking up another on ebay, for 14 total picked up this month. on a side note, I am up to 113 of the 999 total produced.

the other 3 cards this month were nothing special:
    2 - 2004 Bowman #184 RCs
    1- 2004 Upper Deck #236 RC

last month, it was brought to my attention that the 2004 Topps Chrome Uncirculated Gold Xractors were "double stamped" during the serial numbered process. As it turns out, I own 54 of the 279 produced. About half (25) of my 54 were initially stamped out of 250, and not all of the serial numbers matched up with their former numbers (i.e. it was first stamped 110/250, but the re-stamping was 60/279, not 110/279).

Very interesting, and its sweet that I am still finding new things out about my collection.

    MILESTONES:

not a whole lot to speak of this month, but I am very close to a total book value of $16,000 for the Matt Ware Supercollection. Only 4 months to go in 2010, and I would really have to pick it up to get to 3,000 at the end of the year. 278 cards to go... that's an average of about 70 a month... not sure if I will get there. If I do, I'd like to get there with quality cards, not just Bowman and Upper Deck RCs.

last, please click the HOF thread in my signature for a sweet update on the percentage of serial numbered cards of Matt's that I own...

Thanks for checking in again! See you all in a month!

Sucks about the tool who lied to you. Nice additions and hopefully one day I can find a Matt Ware card up here in Oregon.

There's a new card shop that I found in Duluth with a LLLOOOTTT of cards in their dollar bins, I didn't have too much time to rummage through it, but I noticed they had a lot of numbered rookie cards from various years... It's not organized at all, but on my next day off I planned to go through it all. I'll let ya know if any Ware pop up.

September is in the books, and it was a really fun month! A lot of diversity in the collection this month, including some cards that NEVER show up anymore. I didn't have any one huge purchase, but it was a nice, steady flow of cards this month. Check down at the bottom under MILESTONES for a big one this month!

    Here are the stats:

    SEPTEMBER update.

26 cards received this month, but like I said at the top, not a whole lot of any one card. 13 different cards in total! Only 252 cards left until the HUGE milestone of 3,000!!!

    26 cards added September 2010 (2,748 total)

14 RC cards added September 2010

15 serial numbered cards added September 2010

11 serial numbered RC cards added September 2010

    HIGHLIGHTS:

As if 13 different cards in a month aren't enough of a highlight, I picked up a few of my favorite cards, and ones that I rarely see anymore (probably because I have a lot of them!).

    2 - 2004 Bowman Chrome Uncirculated Red Refractors #163 (128 and 192/210)
    1 - 2004 Donruss Classics Timeless Tributes Red #223 (013/100)
    1 - 2004 Donruss Elite Aspirations #168 (13/83)

    MILESTONES:

Well... I said I was close to the $16K mark last month, and I finally broke through! According to Beckett.com, my collection's value stands at $16,016! (with my 1/1's and super low print cards unpriced!)

It will be interesting to see what my collection's value will be when I get to the mega milestone of 3,000 cards!

On to October! Thanks for checking in again! See you all in a month!

JR....I love the diligence in updating your stats for your PC. Congrats. Do you have a goal (date) to reach 3,000?
