Shaq won't return until playoffs
Cavaliers center Shaquille O'Neal was active in portions of the team's practice on Thursday.
However, Cleveland coach Mike Brown still doesn't expect him to return to the floor before the postseason.
O'Neal has been sidelined since tearing a ligament in his right thumb Feb. 25.

Good thing the Cavs reacquired Ilgauskas for the remainder of the year...not that it'll help them against Dwight Howard, if they meet up in the playoffs.

Nathan taking shots at Cleveland fans like this won't help when Boston lost last night! Lets just hope when Shaq gets back he is a little rusty and Howard plays as strongly as he did last year.

Not taking shots...if I were to do that, I'd be more clever :-) Just funny timing for the news to come out.

This news came out the day after he got hurt.....6-8 weeks = out for the rest of the regular season......
Besides, we got Shaq for one reason. And that's to match up with Dwight Howard in the ECF's. And he'll have two playoff series' to get back into the swing of things before Orlando shows up.Last edited by nadeau01_johnson48; 04-03-2010 at 02:14 PM.

There was still some chance he'd return, as 6 weeks would be about now...but, now we know he won't be back period, in the regular season at least.

Gotcha. Everyone that follows the Cavs knew he'd be out until the playoffs...that's why I was wondering why this was considered 'news' all of a sudden.

He's definitely going to help in the playoffs, especially if he's ready 100%. It's good they re-signed Ilgauskas but Shaq's return will give them so much help.
