    Disappearing boxes ?

I've noticed that there are not allot of boxes out there anymore. If u check ebay and web stores, there r hardly any boxes from 03-04 to 08-09. Most r from the 06-07 season which had a sub-par rc class. Some of the boxes available r discounted by 40% to 60%. Most of those contain an expired redemption and r a risk. Others like hp r going for dirt cheap, but have an almost endless supply. Has anyone else noticed this?

Knowing there are not big hit left in the boxes, I guess this is the reason why they are cheap now. And beside, a lot of RCs in those years are not playing in NBA. Even if you pull those guys 1/1 or #/10, it will be very hard to move those cards.

Why wouldnt there not be "big hits" left in the boxes? The cards are corrolated, and randomly placed and wrapped in these boxes/cases all at the same time. So, these boxes/cases have been sitting on distributors shelves for years, but the amount/percentage of "hits" are the exact same as they were 2,3, or even 5 years ago.

If people track the product, it's been couple years of listing in ebay and in forum. I am sure most of the "big hits" are pulled already. That's why whatever reminding will not have that many left.

I think that people realize that if they hold onto the boxes from the '03-'04 and '08-'09 for five to ten years, they'll likely be able to make a lot more money on the box alone rather than busting it. For example, an '03-'04 Topps Chrome Hobby box could be had around $80-100 right when it came out. Now, only six years later, I've seen them go for over $250 on the bay. The fact is that these rookie classes are just that good and people are willing to wait a couple years to make a buck.
