Nebboy made some great points earlier in the thread regarding vintage (pre-1970 in my mind) cards, especially the pre-WWI tobaccos. The risk is lessened and, if you aren't looking for a quick flip, those cards will only escalate in value over time--much more certainty in those markets than the new stuff, given the proliferation of autos, jerseys and what not.
