Question about becket value and sell price

For some of the mid-higher end cards i usually see a trend of a half or a little over half of the BV going as the sell price. Is this how the community sees it as well? Also I pulled a Bill Russell jersey auto the other day and i think the guy at the card shop said the bv is $100. Would i have better luck trying to find a Russel enthusiast on scf or on ebay?

You can get BV or more if it's a superstar, star, or with high potential (curry, evans, jennings), while the other players sell for only half of BV.
