Celtics' Rivers may be leaning towards retiring

Celtics coach Doc Rivers says no decision has been made, but sources suggest that he's leaning towards retirement.

Rivers would like to focus on being there for his family more.

"Part of it is true," Rivers said of the speculation. "Every year I sit down in the middle of the summer and I have a family discussion. We talk about what we want to do. That's nothing new, but every year it gets stronger and stronger. And I think people are making some common sense reads. I've got three seniors next year, two in college and one in high school. That's important to me. We're all family men. We all have kids."

If he does retire, he's had a pretty good career as both a player and a coach.

I like Doc's 'tell it like it is style'. I like him as coach of the Celtics. Maybe he wants to see if the team has to 'rebuild' & would leave if that's the case.

Well, he's been a great coach for the team. I also agree with LakersMC how he tells the press what's exactly going on, not "hmm maybe i'll say something next week". If its partly true, at least he said it is.. he's a great guy and would be a team loss, but you gotta respect it.
