I think that some were scarcer than others. I have the Beliveau buyback auto and it is out of 49 but is not numbered on the card.

Most of the buyback autos i have from 04/05 are hand numbered on the front of the card. Some of them were not hand numbered just purchased at shows and from dealers a hologram placed on them on the back to correspond to the buyback certificate. There were redemption's for some (my Naslund was never fulfilled). Some players had multiple autos on different cards. I should have saved the checklist back in 05 but hindsight is 20/20.
They varied in hand numbering from 1/1 to close to 100 as i recall.
If yours is not hand numbered it is not worth any more then what the card from the original auto set is worth i would say.
Here is an example of a hand numbered one and one that is not.

There were two types of buyback autos in this product. One was autographed cards that were previously released autographs such as sign of the times. These were one per box and had no distinguishing features except for the buyback card that they came with. The second type were base or insert cards which UD bought having IP autographs. These were numbered and fell 1 per case. I don't believe any information was ever released on the already autographed buybacks in terms of numbers.

That is true. For the redemptions i clearly remember back in the day when on the UD site they used have a section called population report (since has been closed). I was checking to see what my Naslund redemption might be out of.It had many sports cards redemption's from different sports listed there. It would have say 04/05 SPA buybacks Naslund /1 /9 /19 what kind of card (like rookie update or what ever) and how many had been redeemed.

I can see why they closed this area of their site , considering their other troubles i can not see them opening it up again.
It was good because you got a chance to see how many redemption's of a certain card there were and how many had been fulfilled.

No many were inserted into packs. Only some were redemption's of the hand numbered ones. My memory is not as sharp as it once was or i could remember which players were redemption's. I know most of the hand numbered Naslund ones were.
