The Indiana Pacers next team to move?
Seems like Indianapolis is the next city to be extorted by the NBA (much like the Sonics were).

Thank you Clay Bennett & David Stern for setting the precedence for this type of thing to continually happen. It's only a matter of time before the NBA loses many of its great historic franchises. Maybe the Pacers can move to Kansas City, I hear they have a new stadium. Maybe they can call themselves the Kansas City Lightnings.
Good for the city of Indianapolis though if they are able to stand their ground and refuse to be blackmailed by these millionaires.

I think Detroit is being sold to another owner with the possibility of moving to a new city. There's no blackmailing of taxpayers or any of that type of stuff yet, like in Seattle in the past and currently in Indiana.
If Detroit does move, they can be the Pittsburg Sunshines.
The NBA, it's FAN-tastic!

Karen Davidson refuses to build a new arena and Mike Illtch is moving the Red Wings to the palace next year, so the fans are blackmailed basically to get a new stadium built, and Davidson has openly comented on selling the team, because she doesn't want it, if only Bill Davidson was still alive to see whats she's done with the franchise

Ah so you guys too. .. . very sad!! An NBA where the Sonics, Pistons, and Pacers are replaced by the Thunder, Lightning, and Sunshine makes me very sad. . .
It really a shame that this type of stuff goes on in the world of sports now.

Yep, from 6 consecutive ECFs to this, Pistons wouldn't go to long without a team, the team is awful and was still up there in attendance (top 10)

nah, the latest news is that the CIB will now take control of Conseco Fieldhouse and pay for all the expenses themselves. Now the Pacers won't get 100% of the profits from concerts and other events held at Conseco, but will still get a portion of them. No chance the Pacers are moving in the forseeable (spelling?) future.

It's a business. The owner's/league's bottom line matters more than the fans and history. That's just the way the world works.

Saw this earlier in the week...pretty surprising. Larry Bird said that he's heard nothing from Herb Simon (Pacers owner) on this matter.
