Norris Trophy Finalists
I'm sure most of you have seen by now, but Drew Doughty, Duncan Keith and Mike Green are the finalists for this year's Norris Trophy.
Personally, I think that Keith deserves it and will end up winning it, but I can also see either one of the other two winning it.
Here's the story from NHL.com

Nicklas Norris finally didn't get nominated. I believe it will be Keith as well, Doughty close behind.

I gotta make a case for Green on this one, yes it's a defensive award, but to go along with all the points, a PLUS 39? He had a ton more hits than Kieth, a lot more blocked shots and takeaways than Doughty and he did it in 7 games fewer than both of them. Keith does have a slight edge in ice time though.

doughty is the 2nd youngest player even to be nominated! if he dont win it this year it wont be to long until he takes over the award aka lidstrom. i say it goes to keith this year with doughty 2nd. green is horrible in his own end imo.

THIS all the way.
Keith will likely get it but only because Doughty is about to put a stranglehold on this award.
In addition to being the 2nd youngest ever might I add the only guy younger was, ahem, Robert Gordon Orr. Wow.

I don't get this. How does a forward get nominated?
With one guy ruled out due to ineligibility, Doughty I think will edge out Keith but like the fellow kings fans have said, even if he doesn't win it this year, he will win it countless times in his career.

I think Doughty is a great player, but I don't understand so much praise already.
Does he even make the top 5 in any defensive category?

Yes and as a Right coaster you probably don't get to see him at all. Watch some highlight videos of him. He can skate end to end with ease, is a fast and strong skater, has a cannon of a slap shot, an arrow for a wrist shot, he can throw crushing hip checks, and he shuts down other teams top lines. Seriously watching him now scares me because he's going to get better and I don't even know how thats possible.

I've seen maybe 10 games of him this year, and I've already conceded he's a good player. But you say Green is a forward, and the only thing in your description here that stands out for defense is hip checks.
I agree he will get better too, but I dont see how he's a Norris winner yet.
