I just won't let someone ruin the fun for me, I'll throw them on mute and move on. With every 25 people is 1 bad person. I can deal with that. I've tried getting out.. and the moment I am completely free.. I am back in.

Its not just people you don't like. Its people thinking their cards are better than yours. Its the people who sell for high prices and then complain when you sell for higher than eBay prices. Its people who say they want a card from you and then when you find a card you like from them with an equal bv, they don't wanna do the trade. Its people who make you put at least 10+ trades in to dispute. Its people who rip you off on one site, you make a trade with them again on this site thinking they won't do it again, and then they never send their end a 2nd time. Its just constant drama I have to deal with here and I have enough as it is in my real life. I can't say I won't miss a ton of people here but I can say I won't miss the cra...crud I have to deal with here.

Ha, I love that I know what you are talking about. If I have to, I'll just break wax and buy stuff of eBay. Without dealing with the drama. But I think it will be okay

In the end, as others have said, you can't let the handful of unsavoury folks poison the well for you. I think we've all had the "newb" status at one point where somebody tries to take advantage of that thinking that just because we're new here we either lack brains and/or are completely new to the hobby. But here's the wonderful thing: for every creep, there's at least 5-10 great folks in this hobby. I've been fortunate to encounter many of them and have some really great online chats about the hobby, the biz, and of course the game itself. They're the ones that I spend my away time thinking about because it's folks like them that keep things very positive.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

When I first joined this site, I had a God Awful trade with a current active member of this site. I had no idea on Book Values, and I was just trading for what I thought was fair. I was taken BADLY on a trade where I sent a McDonalds 07\08 Game Jersey of Shannahan along with about 15 other cards, all together booked at about $400 for an Alexander Ovechkin Young Gun. I thought I was getting a fantastic deal until the PM's started coming in asking me to not accept the trade. Well all I saw was Ovy YG and I jumped. The worst part, the person was "Coaching" me trying to get me to 20 trades so I could get over the MSF rule, but was screwing me in the process. T'was a really bad situation where I had no lea-way to dispute as I was the one that made the trade, but there are people on this site and other sites that will prey on newbies or prey on the lack of knowledge of traders, and it pisses me off. This is supposed to be fun, but the Profit traders ruin it for everyone else.
But as RGM said, for every creep, there are 5 great people. A lot of the top traders on this site, (Nathan7070, Game8, Schwood...etc) make this site what it is today. They are the ones that keep me in this hobby. They have crazy expensive collections, but they're kind hearted and have no trouble helping someone out. Its a beautiful thing.

There are a lot of great people on here and you can't let the "few" ruin it for you. Being newer I have run into the same problem as well as with having to send first some think they can take forever to send their end after receiving. Tell me how it takes 5 days for a package to arrive in Michigan (I'm in Ontario) yet packages I have sent to others in Ontario supposedly haven't arrived 3 weeks later. I guess the Pony Express isn't as efficient in certain areas?
But I will keep going because I love doing this and there are some great people on here.

It is not just people feasting off of 'new' traders. They feast on all traders.
Quick story, I have a Dan Blackburn PC going and someone posted that they have a CHL Dan Blackburn jersey for trade. Now Beckett does not update their pricing at all and have it listed as a $20 card. All that are listed on ebay end up selling for only a buck or two. I had a SP Authentic Future Watch auto rookie of a player in his PC that he collects. The auto rookie has a $5 BV more than the Blackburn. I had asked him if would just do the swap for each other. He said that he already had that card. So then he asked me for a list of players from the team that he likes. I remember that I had seven cards that were middle end rookies, autos and game used and told him that he could pick any two of them regardless of BV. He still said no.
Just a story on how some people if they do not rip you off than they will not make the trade.

I had the same thing happen here. The guy had a steen patch /25 that was 3 clr. It booked 60 and sold around 25-30. He wanted 80 bv because of the swatch, i said cool. He gave me a list of stuff he needed and i had a bunch of it. It mainly consisted of mvp, series 1 and some lower end jerseys and autos and there were about 50 cards he needed. We had talked 3 previous times about it and i had always left frustrated that he was trying to rake me over the coals.
So finally i said take 130 bv (more than twice its worth) from the list because i wanted to make the deal and he was trading down. He sent me an offer of 4 cards that were not on the list that totaled 150 bv. I said no and offered him 150 bv off the list just because i wanted the card. He then sent me back an offer for my 3 clr erik johnson hot prospects rookie auto patch that booked at 120!!!!
Needless to say i told him i wasnt interested in dealing with him anymore. About a week later another trader pulled a 3clr one and we made a quick and painless deal in which i gave him 90 bv of mid end stuff.
This guy pestered me later because i pulled a card he wanted and after i told him i already had the steen and didnt want his anymore, he sent me 4 seperate offers with the steen as the centerpiece.
