Love to see him in Edmonton..... but unless we're getting an extra 1st rounder to deal - not a chance. Certainly not this years, and they'd be fools to trade next years (unless they want to look like the Leafs).

Dude, Seanski. As the resident expert on prospects here, a 1st rounder next year is weak sauce. The only real prospect is Adm Larsson, who is probably the best D man we will see out of the last few years of the draft aside from Doughty. So really unless the Oils 1st next year is number 1 again, it won't be worth much.

i agree if halak does not faulter and price turns into the savior he is gone.edmonton would be crazy to give up the first pick. Price will still end up being (like Fleury) real good after a couple of years to grow. buts habs will have to trade him for it to happen now (unless he shines in these playoffs if he get another chance )

"Weak Draft" doesn't mean a top 5 pick isn't worth much..... and I'd be shocked with the Oilers have an Avalanche-esque turn around next year. They'll have a lottery pick for sure, and likely a top 5, again.

You do not trade picks that high, no matter how good or bad you perceive the draft to be.

OR what the Oilers would be smart to do would be draft calvin Pickard with the 1st pick in the 2nd round or trade in to the 1st again to get him. The kid will be pretty darn good, just like his brother

We could pack him with a Kostitsyn or 2 for Giroux or Neal and a solid draft pick.

i know phily fans love giroux but that's a possibility i would think. or to dallas for neal or benn? i think Quick and Price would fetch a similar return. either a solid young scorer with a good cap number or a more established player with not as friendly a cap number.
