2005 Sets

When do the first sets for the new season come out? I know the draft is in April, but does Sage and Press Pass come out before that? Thanks.

Im pretty sure the Sage and Press Pass, along with Topps Draft Picks and Prospects, come out shortly after the draft. I remember last year there was some debate whether or not this player, I forget his name, was going to be in the draft right out of high school. He already had contracts signed with the card companies, and he wound up not being in the draft. So they have to see who is going to be in the draft before they can send their cards out.

Actually Press Pass and Sage usually come out 3 or 4 weeks before the draft usually around the first week in April. Prestige and Topps Draft Picks and Prospects usually hit the shelf around Draft day maybe a few days after depending on where you live.
I think what Darth Dooku is referring to is the situation with Mike Williams and Maurice Clarrett trying to enter the draft last year one year earlier than the NFL allows. As you may notice Press Pass Sage and even Prestige took this oppurtunity to include them in their early releases. High School players arent allowed to enter the NFL draft the way NBA, MLB and NHL players can. The NFL's bylaws state (Recently held up by the Supreme Court) That no player can enter the draft until he is 3 years removed from His High School Graduating Class.
