Steve Yzerman was the architect of Canada's gold-medal-winning hockey team at this year's Olympics so you'd think that any team looking for a general manager would have him near the top of the list.

The Tampa Bay Lightning supposedly do and the rumor is that the team has requested permission from the Detroit Red Wings to speak with the vice president for that team.
