Durant Fever??
Ok..as I'm sure we've ALL noticed..'Durant Fever' is in FULL EFFECT!! His Chrome Rc..which USED to cost you bout $7-$12..is now fetching upwards of $20+. We won't even TALK about his auto prices..lol. I have to admit..I, also, found myself being sucked in. I regret doing a recent trade for the Bowman Sterling and 2 Chrome Rc's I had of his..so, felt the need to run RIGHT out and replace them..lol. I'm sure at >>2-3X<< the original value in which I paid for ..but, oh well...lol.
SOOOoo...my question..or questions that is.
- Have you been sucked into the Durant Fever Vortex
- Do you think this is a '1' year thing? Or is Durant on his way up to.. say.. Kobe 'Hobby Card' status??
On a side note...my condolences to all you Die-Hard Durant fans that have been w/him since his rookie and college days. I'm sure you like the added attention to your Durant collections..but cringe everytime you go to add to it...lol

I tried to buy some of his cards but was always outbid by an insane higher offer. I think his high prices will maintain until next season. If he has another playoff 1st round exit, expect his prices begin to drop dramatically.

I ended up trading for a Topps Chrome RC before he took off, instead of 'cashing in' though i sold it to a collector of Durant for $7, figured the guy would be happy

He won't continue going up at this rate. He will probably cool down a little over the summer.

Oklahoma City is a young team... and I think they'll be tough next year. As a result, I think at the bare minimum... Durant's cards will stay the same. However, as mentioned before... if they get ousted in the 1st round again... expect them to drop.
Either way, there's no denying this kid can shoot and draw fouls. Glad to see him as the runner up in the MVP voting.

As a low end OKC collector, I'm happy to just end up with commons and inserts/parallels of him, lol! I'm glad I just collect stuff in OKC uni or with OKC text on the card, because his rookies would drive me crazy. ;)
Anyway, I think Durant established himself as a legit superstar this year. Perhaps he won't attain Kobe/LBJ/Wade levels, but I can see an argument for him being in the top 5 already.

I started buying all the Durant's and Westbrook's almost two years ago when they announced the teams move from Seattle to OKC. Living in OKC, and going to all of the games, I have an emotional atachment to collecting the Thunder players. I'm glad I bought as many as I did last year. However, Mid last year, I kind of questioned why I kept buying his Bowman Chrome RC's, and refractors when I already had a stack of them.. Now, I don't question it...I just smile.
I will collect him regardless of value/price. (Until the day, he leaves for free agency, or is traded)

AWESOME!! That's what all sellers/collectors are trying to be in the position to say. Congrats on getting them early.
