    Detroit fans, what now?

Another season in the books, and the run of SCF are over. Congrats to the Sharks for ending the run. Now, we look forward to next year.

First the UFA's/RFA's who I think need to go/stay and why.

Holmstrom: Resign, this guy is the best around the crease.
Bertuzzi: Let him go. We got some younger players coming up and Hudler.
Williams: Let him go. We got some younger players coming up and Hudler.
Maltby: Resign, he has been around forever, a great PK.
Helm: Resign, we need him forever, a GREAT grinder and PK.
    Abdelkader: Resign, grinder, great checker.
    Eaves: Resign
May: Bye, no point in having him.
Miller: Resign, a great addition, can play with Eaves, Draper, Helm
Ritola: Resign, Holland is high on him, and so am I
    Lidstrom: Resign for obvious reasons
Lilja: Resign, good 3rd line D-Men
Lebda: I think he needs to go, or resign, but minors
    Meech: Resign, minors
    Janik: Resign, minors
    Kindl: Resign, minors
    Larsson: Resign, minors

I see Lidstrom taking a pay cut. Detroit may have 2-4 million to play with.

    Lines
    Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom
    Flippula-Zetterberg-Hudler
    Clearly-Helm-Eaves
    Miller-Ritola-Draper

    Switch in Abdelkader, Maltby, Ritola.

    Lidstrom-Rafalski
    Kronwall-Stuart
    Ericsson-Lilja

    Goalies
Osgood, like to see him start again
Howard, if he starts, that is obviously fine too.

If the Wings stay healthy, they will battle for the Central again, the team will get better, not worse. Your thoughts?

    Trade everyone. Rebuild.

    Realistically, I see Liddy retiring.

    Brad May retired.

Not sure what I'd actually do and who I'd sign if I were the wings but I think their reign in the Central is over. Time for the Hawks to win every year now

Lidstrom isn't retiring, they are discussing a contract extension. I'd be shocked if he did. And yes, forgot about May.

Wings had so many injuries, they could of won the central if they didn't have so many injuries. I saw a game where 9 players were from the Griffins. They finished 10 points back, they will contend every year still.

Detroit has 14 players under contract for next year with $13.1 mil available. They are going to have some tough choice on who to resign.

I think it is simple really. Lidstrom and Homer will probably take less. Draper and Maltby may be going though. Bertuzzi and Williams are 3 million gone. Hudler takes the place of that. Only Helm will be the one that will be a big raise. I think the team will be almost the same as we saw today. Except with Hudler, Ritola in, and Bertuzzi out.

quite honestly, I see them trading hudler. why would you want him on your team after he just left for more money in the KHL?

They won't trade him, they need him. It's water under the bridge.

Its not the " End Of The World " the Wings did some good things...Howard
won his first playoff round , then never got blownout in round 2...lost by 1 pt in each loss , showed poise in do or die game5.I dont think the team needs a rebuild at all.You cant win The Cup every year.So I say relax and enjoy the rest of the playoffs , and we`ll be back chasing The Cup in a few months.

    Go Wings !!

Nailed it on the head Don, no more really needs to be said. As for Bertuzzi, it boggles my mind how everyone is so quick to want to see him go when he has the highest points per dollar of any Red Wing, where else are you going to get 20+ goals and almost 50 points for $1,000,000 a year, on top of averaging almost a point per game in the playoffs? RESIGN TUZZI!!!
