no more miracles
Richard, I guess you agree with my statement
our team still has a long ways to go, I hope our playoff run doesn't mask the team's deficiencies
your thoughts?

Agreed wholeheartedly. All you need to do is compare our centremen with those of our opponents in the playoffs. Yes we got past the guys in the first two rounds but the strength and ferocity of the Flyers centres showed us that we need a large, mean, tough right-handed shot down the middle.
We also need Markov back at 100% - failing that, we'll need a replacement capable of setting the tempo of a game in the vein of Markov, Pronger, and Lidstrom. Sadly, these guys don't grow on trees.
And then there's the goaltending situation. I'll save that for a differen thread.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Overall it's been a great ride.
Flyers deserved the win, Their top player did show up, we cannot say that for the Habs, except for some exception.
And we were all saying, Flyers have no goaler ...DOH!
I did like the way Asham played, Habs would need a guy like him for sure :p
Way to go Leighton, he did beat Halak for sure.
I will remember those series for a long time, Halak and Cammalleri did an awesome job and were really fun to look at. Subban have NHL playoff experience now and Gorges did step up when we needed him.
Lets see what kind of team we will have next year now.
Go Habs Go

Hands up to those guys and lets go Flyers, keep the stanley cup in the eastern conference ;)

^^^ That's a cool headline from the Daily News... I like that. Especially after the year the Flyers have had, with that stupid writer Panaccio in Philly haranguing him in the paper, the coaching change, eeking into the playoffs on the last game of the season with an OT goal, the goalie situation all year.
Many do not understand how adversity brings the best out in some people, people who don't quit, people of character. Unless you've experienced it it seems intangible. This run by Philly is an example of this but without the cup it will become the 6th appearance in the finals that resulted in a loss with the last a Sweep by the Redwings in the 1996/97 season and the fabled Lindros era. Little to show for it now...
There is no question on Mike Richards leadership or the team play these guys exhibit. Well done Philly.
