That's who I'd like to see in the final four. I really feel those are going to be the top teams come tournament time.

The Illini are the best and most talented team in the nation- by far. As demonstrated in their game against Wake Forest, they can play with the best in the ACC. North Carolina may be the only team that can match them as far as talent goes. The entire starting five will likely all be drafted into the NBA at some point. Only North Carolina has a starting five like that right now.

warrior-the illini barely pulled off a win against michigan..who? MICHIGAN! theyve had close games in conference, a very weak one. I dont see how theyre the most talented, however they are good.

no love for the defending champs? i mean they arent the same team without okafor and gordon (clearly) but i dunno if anyone saw the syracsue/uconn game and nc/uconn game but they played very good against both .. and should have been in the game alot more with unc ... too many turn overs rite in the beginning of the second half .. but as one of the best defensive teams in the land if calhoun can whip them into shape and get a little momentum goin into the tourney especially if we can get a few big wins in the big east tourney i wouldnt count them out, there a good young team that can put up a fite if there on ... (of course i am a bit biased being riased on husky basketball and i understand they suffered a few bad defeats and have palyed alot of bad basketball but i dont think u can count them out quite yet)

first off this must be addressed

TheMan - the michigan game was a close one but you have to remember 2 things... 1. they were on the road... the road in the big ten is one of the hardest places to win...2. they DID win and in the win/loss column thats all that matters.. no other team has won all of their games to this point.. You picked Wake in the final four but lets remember what happened just a couple months ago in the Big Ten/ACC challenge... the illini DEMOLISHED Wake. Beat them by 20 or so. I think the most talented team is NC with illinois REAL close behind... with dee brown (the fastest man in D-1 ball), Luther Head, James Augustine.... Dick Vitale even said they were great and coming from dickie v anything positive about the Big Ten has to be for real... if it aint Duke or NC it isnt anything special according to the one sided prick. Illinois also went into Wisconsin and ended their 36 game win home streak then beat them again by 13 this past weekend. Anyone who doesnt think ilinois is for real has something coming.. they will make it to the final 4 but i dont know if they have what it takes to beat NC... although my hoosiers should have beat them earlier in the year... i hate ed hightower

also a weak conference? no.. a weaker conference than usual... the thing about the big ten is any team can beat any team on any given night.. the problem is they play real basketball.. with the exception of illinois and northwestern, they all play a tough game. They come down, bang in the post, and play defense.. this hurts them when it comes tourney time because the normal play of the big 10 becomes fould when they play the run and gun conferences...

also there are many good teams this year that could all realistically make noise in the NCAA

    Illinois
    Wisconsin
    Michigan State
Minnesota looked fantastic ealier in the season but i dont know what happened
Indiana is finally coming around... lost to illinois by only 13 without Bracey Wright, Beat minnesota by around 15

people look at the big ten like they are faultering but with all the new coaches and coaches out the door (knight-davis, Amaker (sp?), Gene Keady out the door, Steve alford planning on leaving iowa... every conference has its down years this is just the big tens.. give it a couple years to stabilize and things will turn around

I mine as well ask in here. How do you know which teams get in which bracket come NCAA tournament time? I know a lot about college basketball but I am knowledge-less about who goes where to start off the brackets. I would give a shot at my final 4, but I dont know who starts in which bracket

the brackets are really just a format to get number one teams close to their home. there is no set boundaries or anything though.. the 4 best teams get number 1s and they place them closest to their home. for instance.. if the teams were

OK STATE - south number 1
    Illinois - midwest number 1
North Carolina - east number 1
    Washington - west number 1
