Thanks for the Memories, Reggie!
As some of you might have heard by now, Reggie Miller has decided to hang em' up at the end of the year. This decision was not really unexpected, but it came as a small shock/disappointment.
To begin with, let me say that I have watched the Pacers all of my life. I have experienced many good memories, and also some that I would rather forget (I'm sure you can read between the lines here). However, Reggie has been on the Pacers all of these years. In fact, to me, Reggie Miller is the Pacers. He may not be the leading scorer this year, and hes not having the best of times right now either, but he represents the organization in every aspect. He has been hard-working, successful, and above all - loyal. I really wanted Reggie to get a ring before he retired, but it appears as he won't. 2000 could have been the year, but the Lakers spoiled that (you know, when they actually worked together). This could have been the year, but several circumstances and an abundance of injuries have somewhat squashed that hope.
With that being said, I will miss watching Reggie, and I hope that he takes an extended role with the team in years to come. In my opinion, he deserves to be in the HOF, despite being somewhat of a one-dimensional player. You can't argue with his statistics. Thanks for the memories, Reggie!

I agree with you Kyle. I believe that Reggie Miller was just as important to the pacers as Jordan to the bulls because the bulls also had pippen and Rodman. Not only do I feel he is worthy of the hall of fame (on first ballot), he should also be the coach when Carlisle leaves.

I love Reggie Miller. When I was in grade school, my sister got him to sign a birthday card for me because she knew someone in the ucla athletic dept. Nice guy.
FYI. There is a cool Reggie Miller / Spike Lee autograph card on ebay right now.

I saw that card listed on Beckett once. I believe it books at least $300, if not more.

ya he is one of the only players to actually stay with one team his whole career. Truely a legend.

I can understand your feelings for Reggie being a Pacers fan, but me being a Bulls fan, I hated the guy. He seemed arrogant to me. The bowing to the crowd thing was just the worst, I'm glad it ended up that they lost that game. I think his sister was a better all around player than he ever was. Just my opinion.

Yeah, the bowing was not called for. But he was probably the only player that really got Jordan to "fight." His sister probably was better than he was; he wouldn't be anywhere without her I don't think (he worked so hard to beat her).
