Who has the worst UD replacement horror story ?
Must be absolutely 100% true. Here's mine. I don't think anyone can beat this.
1. Put in a redemption for 07-08 UD Exquisite Dual Autograph Logoman of David Lee and Wilson Chandler #1/1. Two PC type players.
2. Waited close to 14 months.
3. Asked UD customer service for the card without the autos as I wanted the logoman patches anyway.
4. Was told that the card was never made.
5. Asked, why then I was waiting for 14 months for "athletes committed to signing soon" when there was never a chance that they would ever sign if the card was not made.
6. No response. Should have asked the cat.
7. I then asked for replacements but wanted to know how UD would value the card being replaced.
8. I informed them that in my opinion the price I paid for the card was market value seeing as this was a 1/1. (Incidently I paid upwards of $1000 - I really wanted this card !)
9. They informed me that they would use Beckett to value the card and would send me cards of players I had requested but no guarantee. Did not bother informing them that Beckett a) does not value 1/1 cards b) would in theory be listing my purchase price as the value seeing as they are supposedly based on transacted sale prices.
10. Waited 3 months - no replacement cards.
11. Finally received cards last week as follows :
David Lee 07-08 UD Black Patch Autograph #10/10
David Lee 07-08 UD Black Ticket Autograph Gold #9/15
Dave DeBusschere 2000 Century Legends Legendary Signatures
Michael Ray Richardson 08-09 UD Premier Preeminence #1/1
12. Approx value probably south of $200.
13. The toploaders UD used to ship these cards were scratched, dirty, second hand, "been around the block twice" type toploaders.
14. So you're saying "hell at least you got a #1/1".
15. The #1/1 card would have fit nicely into a 55pt toploader. UD ships it in a 130pt toploader in a way that simply invited damage.
16. Sure enough the upper left corner of this #1/1 card is bent and creased.
17. This ends my replacement saga. I have thrown in the towel and admitted defeat.
UD are absolute masters of "how to screw your customers". They have taken it to another level. No one can touch them.

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again.
This is why I dont' buy ANY UD products. I'm so glad I read up on the hobby here on the forums before I decided to spend any money.
Anyways, that sucks and will be a tough #1 crappiest UD redemption story to beat.

Don't throw in the towel yet, report the incident to the California better business bureau explaining in detail that they did not give you equal value on your redemption, which they are bound to as it states if we can not fulfill your redemption for any reason we will send you another card or cards of equal value.Nowhere does it say we will send you cards worth 1/5th of what you paid.I've done it with Topps before and was sent additional cards to make up for it.With upperdeck's legal problems you would think they would be going out of their way to satisfy the customer.Sorry for the long reply just went off on a tangent, hope it helped though.

Ask people about their 2005-06 Rashad McCants Exquisites
or the farce of the legendary cuts and the checklist that was drastically changed beyond recognition. I have some stories

UD deserves worse than bankruptcy. For $1000, I would definitely contact the BBB or authorities.
Best line I've ever gotten from UD...
I tried to redeem a card online from 07 Sweet Spot Classic the day before the redemptions were to expire. I was given a message that the redemption had expired (it had not). I called the next morning, the day of, and they say "sorry, needed to be in before today." I tell them I tried, and was rebuffed. Then they say they are out of stock of that card, so there's nothing they can do. I ask how does that even work? The service rep's response?
"It's like ordering bad food. There's nothing we can do about it."
Uh... what? Why not just hang up on me? That would've made more sense and would've been less insulting to my intelligence.

4-5 month wait for just a few cards to be replaced is nut's.
