Monique who?
Monique Currie is leading the WNBA in scoring and has helped the Mystics to a 3-0 record. In her previous five seasons, she's never averaged more than 14.5 points per game, and the Mystics have had a .500 or better record in just two of their 13 campaigns. I don't know if she and the Mystics can keep this up, but it's the most surprising WNBA news so far, IMO.
(BTW, here's an addendum for the WNBA haters [not sure how many are here, but they're widespread on InsideHoops]: It's no problem if you ignore it and don't care about it for its own sake. That's as fair a reason to dislike any sport, and I'll be the first to admit that the WNBA has never interested me nearly as much as the NBA has despite my gender. However, I don't see how it's justified to go out of your way to complain about any modicum of attention that the WNBA gets on a basketball forum. I don't care for racing or soccer myself, but do you see me going into their forums to go on about how much I don't care for those sports? No. Besides, if you loathe the WNBA so much, it also makes you hypocritical if you're the same kind of guy who gets frustrated that your girlfriend/wife "doesn't understand" your sports interest. If you're so set against women's sports, particularly when these female athletes are often more athletic and fit than many guys are, you may want to re-evaluate your perspective.)Last edited by WilyWestbrook0; 05-23-2010 at 05:12 AM.

The Mystics sure are playing well...they have the benefit of having three great veterans in Currie, Harding and Smith, and Langhorne playing in her third year playing great as well. Mystics are looking for their first 4-0 start in franchise history...they play the Sun tonight.
