Pierce: Celtics can smell title
The Celtics have been careful not to get ahead of themselves, aside from Paul Pierce's postgame interview in Game 2, but after Saturday night's win over the Magic they are just one win from the NBA Finals.
Pierce said in his press conference following Game 3 that Boston has a renewed sense of urgency because they realize how close they are to winning another title.
"We're motivated by what's stake. We see the big picture as a team. We win two games and we look here and say that we're a step closer to our goals," Pierce said.

You know what's funny? The "Big 3" have been there for 3 years. In those three years, they will have made the NBA finals in two of those years (barring an improbable comeback by the Magic). The one year they did not make the finals was the year that KG missed the entire playoffs. Even though he is 34, and isn't as quick or dominant as he once was, he is still very much the glue that holds the team together, and probably the biggest key to the Celtics success.

Well it's clogging up the Basketball chat... Look how many threads have 0/1 replies.
I can't find threads about "actual news" from a couple of days ago because these "not news" threads are getting in the way.

It seems to be fine in hockey chat...it's worked for them, and it seems to be working here...I've only heard a few complaints, compared to when there weren't many threads posted on a daily basis...had more requests for more activity here. Also, if you want to find older threads, there is the search option in the top-right corner of the forum.
If you'd like to continue discussing this, please PM me, instead of going way off topic in these threads.

Celtics are playing great, but I wonder if all their success on the court will hurt them in the next round like it did to the Magic? I don't think it will, because they are much more experienced than the Magic, but it's something to think about.

I don't think so...see, they weren't supposed to beat the Heat, Cavs or Magic, and they are 1 win away from doing all three...if they were going to lose their focus/become too tired, I think it would've happened long before now. If anything, I think they'll be even more aggressive than what we've seen due to the fact that they are SO close to their 18th title, and with this current group, this could be the last year they get this close.
