All Star Voting is a Joke!
They released the votes so far in the AL...i'll focus on the first base position
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?..._id=mlb#alvote
Seriously Miguel Cabrera is 3?!?!? When some player tears it up, the fans usually get it right..Cabrera is argueably the MVP of the AL thus far...
Lets compare stats
A) .209 Batting Average, 7 HRs, 30 RBIs, 25 runs scored, 8 doubles, 28 walks, .327 OBP, .378 Slugging, .705 OPS
B) .383 Batting Average, 11 HRs, 34 RBIs, 31 runs scored, 14 doubles, 35 walks, .497 OBP, .701 Slugging, 1.199 OPS
C) .331 Batting Average, 10 HRs, 40 RBIs, 29 runs scored, 15 doubles, 23 walks, .415 OPB, .598 Slugging, 1.012 OPS
A is just terrible stats = Mark Texiera
B has great numbers, Morneau
C has great numbers as well, Cabrera
HOME FIELD IN THE WS IS ON THE LINE! I wonder why people don't realize its kinda a big deal for teams who have the chance at the postseason! Tex will ultimatly heat up, probably, but the other two guys blow his numbers out of the water, Morneau Cabrera should be 1-2, i dont care who is first or second right now, because both guys have played great, although i'd put Cabrera first, because Morneau will ultimatly not hit .380, but thats besides the point

Yeah from the looks of it Morneau should win right now. Cabrera should be easily in 2nd though. They both are playing great.

Teixiera shouldn't even be top 5, he should be in the dust...the only other objections would be Jeter and Josh Hamilton, niether should be starting (if it ended today)

Just like the NBA. More people vote for the name rather than skills. At least they are making some production and its not as bad as Iverson being voted a starter.

It's a popularity contest is all it is,plus the teams that fill their stadiums can stuff the ballot box.

Its not fair that guys put up these awesome numbers and a guy who is playing horrid would start, fan's need to wake up and realize, Cabrera/Morneau will get home field for the AL not Tex and his .207 average

I honestly wouldnt argue whos 1 and whos 2...its the fact the Twins, Yanks and Tigers have playoff aspirations, play the best people or we might as well let the NL win..we might as well let Don Kelly start at first
