How many negatives is too many?
Just wondering what everyones opinion is on negative feedback on ebay. I was thinking about blocking bidders that have too many negative feedback. My only problem is how many is too many?
I would like to hear some opinions on this

It depends how many positive, I'd say less then 95% is bad. Especcialy if they come from when they sold things.

Two. If someone messed up and everything once, mistakes happen-theres your negative. If they have two, then theyve messed up twice, and maybe its not much of a mistake.

I also like to read what the neg. feedback is for. Sometimes it has nothing to do with the transaction or I have seen people complain about a item that was not recieved 3 days after the auction ended.

Under 98 percent I normally won't bid on depending on what the negatives seem to be about. 99 percent or better is usually what I aim for. 95 percent means that there is a one in twenty chance that you're not going to be happy, which isn't good imo.

I stay away from anyone under 99 percent. If they have a lot of transactions, that 99 percent could also be misleading. They could have a lot of negatives and still maintain that 99 percent. I stay away from those people too.

A lot of negatives isn't all that important if the person really has a lot of feedback. Probably my favorite seller on Ebay has over 100 negatives (maybe it's even less, but it's at least 60. I haven't looked in a while since he doesn't seem to sell anymore) to go with well over 10,000 positives. It's easy to go 50 auctions without a neg or neutral, but you're normally just not going to go hundreds of auctions without running into one or more people with unrealistic expectations or somebody who will leave you a retaliation feedback (which is how I have my one negative out of over 100 positives). Especially if somebody runs dutch auctions there's a chance of a negative for any customer who doesn't get the super expensive cards in the item description in their one lot.
There are people who pay with no problem but are kind of shady when it comes to selling as far as describing their items, then there are people who are good sellers but are kind of iffy as to whether they want to pay for the item they bid on last night. Basically you just have to look into their feedback a little; somebody could even have only one neg, but (for example) if they're selling DVD's and that one neg says that their DVD was a copy I'm not going to buy from that person.

depends what the feedback is for... some people get negs for slow shipping where wuite honestly i dont care if it is not shipped out right away because pretty much anything i buy on ebay is for my pC so it doesnt matter if it gets here now or a week from now... if he has a feedback for describing a card poorly or bad shipping practices i will stay away from that seller with only one neg
