Someone explain something to me...
1. How in the world does Jimmy Rollins lead in SS All-Star votes? Seriously? How many games has he played in and what has he done that for some reason puts him in front of Hanley Ramirez?
2. Why would someone in their right mind vote for Shane Victorino to be an All-Star? Jason Heyward and Andre Ethier have been so much better, yet people voted for Victorino. I can understand Jayson Werth, as he has proven that he's an All-Star caliber player, but I can't put Shane Victorino in that category.
3. How was Teixeira leading AL First basemen? This coming from a Yankee fan, Miguel Cabrera should be leading that category (that's who I voted for).
Just some questions. I want to hear your opinions.

it's sad that people can't vote on the players stats up to this point in the season and typically vote for players from their favorite team or players that have past history of being an allstar. It is the fans game, but I hate how unbiased fans can be.
This sort of thing always reminds me of when Seattle had the game back in the 90's (i think). Seattle did a huge campaign to get their players voted in. I can't remember how many mariners started but there quite a few. They had a good team that year, but still.

fans aren't supposed to be unbiased. The all-star game is for them to vote in who they want to see in the game, not who really deserves a shot to be in.

No that should be Justin Morneau. Every stat Morneau basically beats Cabrera in so I think he is more deserving.
Also to answer your question it is the voting drives. Go to any page on MLB.com and they are telling you to vote Yankees, Phillies, Mets, etc. so people do. Then you have the drives at stadiums that have fans filling out thousands of ballots for just the team. Teams that are more popular and have more fans are obviously going to be in the lead because of it.

Another All-Star question is why do Rangers always crack the top-2 or top-3 in nearly EVERY category every year?

Surprisingly it really isnt like that, i mean i'd say Vlad is very deserving of his #1 ranking and same for Cruz..I do scratch my head on Teagarden though..
Phillies fans sure are stuffing the ballets up, man they are first or second in like every position, Pretty ridiculous, as much as i love Polanco i mean come on, he couldnt even beat out Pedroia at second base, you move him to third and now he leads? man oh manHidden Content

Look at the votes....there's a Ranger in the top-4 in 6 out of 7 categories.
Kinsler? Andrus? Teagarden? Hamilton? Kinsler has played about 10 games this season, and the other three shouldn't even be in the top-10 looking at their numbers.

Andrus' numbers aren't terrible compared to the other AL Short Stops...Teagarden like i said i shook my head at, Kinsler i'd say is more popular in general, not just a homer pick, but i agree he shouldnt be anywhere near the list, Hamilton as well i'd agree with, i wouldnt object him in the bottom of the top 15, but not in the top 5...
With that said, USUALLY fans get it right, in 08 they got it right on Josh Hamilton, in 07 they got it right with Magglio Ordonez, I wish more people realized home field is on the line

This game is for the fans.. fans vote who they want to see!! Actually it stinks because the games actually count for something!! I think the players should vote!
