Rough week for QB's
Bledsoe was released yesterday by the Buffalo Bills,
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slu...ight&type=lgns
This coming 1 day after Garcia was released by the Browns, and on the heels of Harrington about to be cutt by the Lions. I can understand Garcia (Who I think still has some good games left in him) Because I think Holcomb is better for the future of the Franchise. Is Buffalo that sold on JP Losman? Gruden and the Bucs are said to already be in talks with Garcia's people......forget that id rather have Bledsoe! As far as the Lions cutting Harrington.....what are they friggin thinking? Look at Drew Brees it took him 4 years to get in a rythym in San Diego, if the Lions cutt Harrington after 3 years than there is no hope for that Organization........No Wonder Barry Sanders ran from there.
Also happening late last week was jets backup QB Quincy Carter being taken off the Active Roster for some sort of Drug rehabilitation.
It jus doesnt pay to be a Mediocre QB these days.
Id love to hear other opinions on this matter

I guess 3,000 yards just isnt good enough anymore and when you think about it I guess it shouldnt be. 3,000 yards over 16 games is around 180 yards a game.....Heck Jamal Lewis rushes for more than that 50% of the time lol
Speaking of Lewis I wonder if he got so quick and elusive while running from the cops during drug trafficking gone bad?
Jus Kiddin I like ole Jamal even if he did goto Tennessee

lions are going to keep harrington. They are going to bring a veteran in to compete for the job, but harrington will be the starter. This will be the year the makes him or breaks him

We're now starting to see the repercussions of the league's expansion: on average, there are the same amount of quality QBs, but more teams, meaning more backups who have starting jobs. And you can't really hold it against these guys. They have the skills of a 2nd stringer, yet they're asked to carry the team - something eventually gives.
Not that I'm complaining, though - i like 32 teams, and I like being able to see a few guys who under a 28 team league wouldn't make it to my TV screen.
I'm a Buffalo fan (have been for 19 years) and am quite shocked at what I've seen since their loss to Pittsburgh. I agree that it was time for a change, but just letting Bledsoe go leaves you with no safety net on the very good chance that JP comes out and has a typical "rookie" season. He's a very talented and gifted athlete, but he's still unproven in the NFL. I realize that he hurt his leg in the preseason, but I hoped that he'd have a bit more game experience before the ball was dropped in his hands.
Regardless, like I said, he is very talented. He has a hell of an arm, and can buy himself time with his legs - and while I'm expecting a losing season, I'm very excited for the future of this team. And the way I see it, the coaches know more about him than we do - obviously they feel he's ready, and are also willing to accept a losing season.
And as far as Bledsoe goes - he served his purpose. I fully believe he was brought in ONLY to bring a bit of a name to the Bills after quite a few devastating seasons. He was their best option - they just needed someone to come in who could get the fans excited again, while the team went on rebuilding themselves. He has a home somewhere, but I don't see him succeeding as a starter unless he has an all-pro offensive line and at least three great recievers - which is why I can't imagine Dallas taking him, which is the current odds-on favorite to pick him up.
Anyway, aside from three years of prep for Brees (see also: Palmer, Bengals), I think his butt got kicked when the Chargers brought in Rivers - and that, along with an amazingly talented team, gave him what he needed to step up his game. And I think the same thing could happen in Detroit - let Harrington see that he's expendable, and hope that he decides it's do or die time... Put up or shut up, I guess. As far as Garcia goes, a lot of people talk negatively about him, but I still see him as a good pickup for a struggling team. He does have a few positives that he brings to the table, and think he could be a huge factor in taking a team into the playoffs.
