Timeless Treasures: Be careful buying tins.

For those of you who have been watching/reading a lot of case breaks - you probably already know this. For those of you who haven't, well, take this as fair warning.

In 90% of case breaks, the "big hits" have been clustered in tins 12-15 (this is counting up from the end of the case where the tins face up).

It seems that Panini tried to have multiple types of "case hits" - big auto, rookie auto parallel, tag, logo, etc. Nobody is entirely sure how they grouped them, but you get the idea. However they were grouped, they attempted to seed them every 15 tins to make sure they didn't overlap.

Only problem is, in doing so, they created a predictable placement.

DO NOT BUY TIMELESS TREASURES FROM ANY SOURCE IF YOU THINK SOMEBODY SEARCHED THE CASE.
People catch onto this things very quickly, and those who lack souls will take advantage of such knowledge.

Make sure that your source is a trusted dealer who MIXES the tins before selling them.

Damn. I trust my LCS but I don't know their distributor so I'll have to pass on the treasures(their a smaller LCS so they don't buy cases of this stuff). I was looking forward to opening a tin this Wed. too!

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait for the Court Kings and Crown Royales in June!

This could possibly be true. My group break had a case hit Kobe on card auto 3 clr break /25 in the last 3 boxes (13-15).

I do however applaud Panini for attempting to give the consumers what they want by having "multiple case hits" in each case but it really does suck if they made where the cards will be so predictable.

Interesting to know. Does anyone know what the sample size really is for this phenomenon though?

Are we talking a handful of cases that are like this or dozens +? Could the best hits be clustered together but in different places within the case for other cases?

I have bought 5 boxes off a seller that just sells all the boxes out of a whole case and doesn't meddle. I've only opened one tin so far and got a /10 Dominique Wilkins patch auto redemption. I'm not worried about this seller meddling but still it add more pressure knowing that you might have all the good hits or none of them.

But to me it would have to be a high % of all the cases that have the exact same phenomenon/placement to consider it a product-wide thing.
