    Looking for help

Hey guys, i am looking at getting back into collecting and do not even know where to start. I know the whole Big Ben thing has blown everything up. I really dont know what to start collecting. I picked up a couple of packs the other day at Meijer and was hooked again. I bought 2004 Score, and pulled a Big Ben regular card. I also bought a few fleer greats of the game and 2 upperdeck foundations. I want to purchase a box that is reasonably priced and that i will get a descent value and ammount of cards.

    What does everyone think??

I would pick up a box of 2004 UD Foundations, reasonably priced and very nice cards. For about $70 you get about 2 autographs, 1-2 Jersey cards and a couple fairly low #'d rookies.(250 I think) I just got back into it too, now it's no turning back. Pretty addictive.

Using the bay can also help. Many good deals to be had. My advise is to shop at night because less people are on to start a bid war with you. As far is buying boxes, its all finding the box that is well priced, and now a days decent boxes are costing from 70-120. So hey shop around and you should have no trouble getting back into it! good luck with collecting !

I know exactly what you mean. I stopped buying cards around '91, prices jumped quite a bit. But the cards are a heck of a lot better now. The Jersey's and autos are pretty sweet.

I also would have to suggest the 04 UD Foundations. I have purchased Boxes this year from $65 all the way to $200 and the $65 Foundations is the best for the money by far. Secondly if you want to spen about $10 more you can pick up a box of 04 Upper Deck Finite High Gloss. These cards are beautiful and are well worth the money as well. Although with the High Gloss you ony get 10 packs with 3 cards per pack. With Foundations you will make the Base set with one box every time, get 2 autos, 2 rookies, a Game used jersey, and a Gold card #ed to only 100. This box has 24 packs with 5 cards per pack. Well what ever road you chose enjoy the ride.........Collecting is fun to do.
