Sports Collectors Digest?

Hi all,

I was browsing the internet looking for sports card magazines that actually contain decent articles about what's happening in the hobby.

What's the story with this Sports Collectors Digest? Is it worth a subscription? Is it all fluff and filler and no decent articles (like a certain other magazine)? Do they pay much attention to hockey? It sounds like its not a price guide, but more of a survey of the hobby.

I've enjoyed the SCF Articles about issues with the hobby and previews of upcoming sets and am looking for more of that kind of content.

Suggestions?

i used to get that " news paper" i would get it everytime it came out..but little by little the paper would be filled with just way to many ads...less news about the hobby..me and youy share the same idea of the magazines..i would rather read articles than ads..i mean some ads are ok but not 85% ads and 15% articles...if you collect say,,signed art of sport figurines or lithographs ect..or love auctions..then that is the paper for you..like everyone is saying the internet has the best articles now instead of the actual magazines..but i would take a magazine over an internet article any time...

I really miss the old days of beckett where they would have quite a bit of content. Now all the articles seem to be checklists disguised as articles (like the "Have You Seen Me" articles that take 2-3 pages). I really wish the hobby had a quality news source that didn't have blatant conflicts of interest. All the news we get now is either something put out by Upper Deck, which is skewed towards their self promotion, or by Beckett, who wouldn't dare criticize their cash cow.
