    Question on OPC Variations

I haven't collected OPC before, but I am starting a couple player collections. How can one tell the difference between the various variations of the OPC set for 2009-2010.

For instance: Regular, Gold, Retro, Rainbow Retro, is there a Regular Rainbow too?

Thanks for the assistance. Pictures would be helpful.

well regular is a pretty basic understanding, the retro is an insert set (1 per pack) then they have rainbow parallels which are shiny and #'d /100. I think 09-10 just have rainbow parallels which are basically just shiny. The other thing to keep in mind is OPC Metal. These have 2 versions, metal and metal x. The metal set looks similar to the rainbow parallels, but they have a metallic shine to them compared to the rainbow parallels which have the rainbow kind of shine to them.

Only thing i cant remember is what the Metal X parallel looks like.

No pics but i hope this helps to some extent

This is what we have this year:

Top row, l-to-r: Base, Rainbow/Gold (same card, some people use the term interchangably)
Bottom row, l-to-r: Retro, Retro Rainbow, Retro Blank Back

It's much easier this year than last year, when we had the Metal and Metal X parallels - a lot of people got the Metal and Gold mixed up. Basically, the rainbow is a shiny base parallel, while the retro rainbow is a shiny and #'d /100 parallel of the retro. The blank back speaks for itself.

Also, some players have a Box Bottom, which has the same design as the Retro but with a different photo:

So, is there some kind of list that says who has a Box Bottom? I wasn't even aware these existed until right now.

Do UD list it in their checklist? Or do they even have a checklist up for OPC? LOL

Depends on the player, but the word this year is that they're only /5 so the usual NPDTS applies.
